Battery Question
Anyway, I get that the car always has some drain from all the electrical systems, and I get that I can’t be in it and run the ac for an hour with the car off. But sitting in the car for 5 min listening to music on a low level? Do I need a new battery? Is this covered under any warranty? I’ve never had this before. On my X5M the battery is 6+ years old and it gives me no such problems..

mb battery is not known to last a long time , I changed mine out at near 4 yrs old due to electronic faults (as aged battery was partly to blame). My Service Advisor was working around the rules and claimed and replaced it under warranty; otherwise it would have cost around $500+ out of pocket

The battery is $150 at your favorite Costco or auto store.
That said, these cars do not fully charge the AGM batteries and a trickle charger is a required accessory. When I get the battery-low alert, I put it on the charger overnight (or sometimes longer) until the charger says it's fully charged. That usually is enough for a few weeks or a month, depending on driving. When it got to the point of not lasting more than a week, they replaced the battery.

One caveat to the trickle chargers is to not use one if you plan to replace your battery under warranty soon. Once the trickle charge tops off the battery, it can take a few weeks for the battery to throw a "critical level" code, which is what you need to have present for a free replacement under warranty.
