Main battery replacement

Main battery replacement

Been getting low battery for a year now ,
want to replace main battery on 213 e63

Wonder if anyone has tried any other battery outside of stock one ? Has one replaced about 2 years ago and it started to show alerts after about a year, now for past 7 mont I’ve had low battery warning .

I had mine replaced under warranty at 3.5 yrs in service time.

Would there be a warning message for low in battery? Just curious.

That is what my display continued to show so I had it replaced.

Usually it is the starter battery causing electrical glitches but auxiliary battery cannot be neglected as well as I heard it can affect start/stop and even transmission shifting behaviour.

That explains why auxiliary battery malfunction changes the shifting behaviour of the transmission, interesting find, never occurred to me to look in there.

As you can see from the youtube video posted above, it is also on W213 s, but problem is not sure if it is market dependent hence why some W213 might not have it?

The video shows replacement of something he calls a "voltage regulator". It's certainly doesn't look like a battery: https://mbparts.mbusa.com/oem-parts/...e-205905341480 , and it doesn't show fitment for W213.

I remain confused.

Yes, that capacitor voltage regular replaced the functions of an actual AGM lead acid aux battery located in the trunk.

I see, if that is what you mean by not having an aux battery in the W213 then that clears up the confusion, MB calls it the auxiliary battery still although it has become a capacitor for a while now since W205 C-Class I believe?

I recently had my main battery replaced on my 2018, after having warning messages for several weeks. It failed the Xentry test and cost me $295.xx + labor. No more warning lights.

Nope! There is a capacitive store on the E63S, but no auxiliary battery.

I’ve had it replaced one allrady at 32 k under warranty now at 52k mi , are there any alternatives to stock batteries ? Replacing should not be that hard .

how much was labor ? Soiling like I need new one as well.
