Current :2018 E63S and a 2018 GLE 63S . Prior, CLA 250, C450, 2017 AMG C63S
Edition 55 AMG OEM FILLER CAP ISSUES
Has anyone else received this gas cap notification? It continues to come on which triggers the check engine light. My MB service advisor said he has been getting a lot of calls about the same issue. I have an appointment tomorrow for him to look at it.

Have one on my GLE 63 and no problems. As a habit even before I got it, I always turn the gas cap until it stops (click) and then go a skosh more until it bottoms out which you can feel. If you tried that and still have the message then most likely it's a defective cap. Did you put the old one back on to see if the message goes away? To me it seems odd the service advisor says he's been getting a "lot of calls" about this issue. Not too many know this cap exists and I'm sure there are even fewer who are ordering one.

same problem with me, started with gas cap loose messages on and off, then a week later after filling up gas I get flashing engine check light and the whole car shakes/idle very rough. Put on the old filler cap back on and we'll see what's going on as I never have this kind of problem before
