Indy all the way for me for sure. Never paying this much for basic stuff like A and B service. My indy guy of 20 years allows me to bring my own oil, filter, OEM MB brake fluid etc.. Change all air filters for the ac system on my own. Just got three cam solenoid magnets changed out on one of my other MBs today. All in cost for parts and labor was about $300. Dealer quoted me around $900 to $1000. I only use the dealer for warranty work.

may I suggest a Kia for you?….. (kidding around)
Haha not my first German performance car but it is my first Mercedes. I called around to the other dealers in the area and they were all half the price. I guess I should have done that first.

I'm located in Denver, CO. When the advisor originally showed me the options his first package was $1300 which is insane!

There is no way Service A costs $900. It should be ~$220 max without any discounts etc.

Ya that price is super close to service B in the USA but then there are likely service coupons floating around that helps.

Denver now has labor rates of $245 to $275 per hour. More than a brain surgeon. Going to go indy from now on. Quote for brakes at MB front and rear $2850. Local indy $950 - Duh!!

I have a 2019 E53, but I can't give you any info. I bought the prepaid maintenance when I bought the car - it pad for two A's and two B's. At my last service I was sold another A and B prepaid maintenance for 1700. I was told it was cheaper to prepay because the next two maintenances include extra stuff beyond the typical A and B. The next A will include spark plugs and air filter, normal price for that A would be 1300 + tax. The next B will include brake flush and transmission service (not sure what that entails), normal price tor that B would be 2,160 plus tax, So 1700 for both combined, no tax, looked like a good deal.

As for dealer vs indy, from now on I'll go with the dealer. I believe I have a very good one. I used to have a great indy German mechanic, Manfred, who always knew what was wrong and fixed it for a fair price, but he retired. Then I went to an indy for my E55 - not German - and they just didn't have the same know-how as Manfred and I would up spending unnecessary dollars on wrong guesses. If you find an indy totally devoted to Mercedes, as was Manfred, that's great. Otherwise, though, I recommend the dealer. At least they have the latest equipment and service updates, and an establishment behind them for when things begin to go wrong. And, eventually, they will.

I've owned many BMW's and always let the dealer do the service, because it's included for like three years anyway. I was just delivered a car from MB that's already late for service because it's been sitting. The dealer quoted me $400 for Service A, which I will do because I'm not paying for it. I enjoy working on my cars and will do the service myself for the $100. Carfax lists maintenance performed by the dealer, does anyone know if this data can be reported for DIY service? ******** NVM I found it, Carfax actually lets you enter your own service records... for free! Wow, nothing's free anymore. https://www.carfax.com/Service/
