Heh
Look at the rear door margin vs the quarter panel. Fixing the trim will not gain correct alignment.

Im not too worried about the other stuff like transmission and differentials since It’s not listed on my sticker. I’m fairly interested in getting 250,000+ kms out of the engine though.

Today I used the faster still working old E63 to go get winter tires and rims for the in-the-shop new E63. Two hour round trip was fun.

Now that I’m used to the new car - it’s better. No more complaints on the ride. It’s smoother more stable doesn’t get caught tracking ruts. The “drivers car” stuff I commented in my first posts regarding the lowered W212 were not as fun today.

I prefer the new car. Although the 2016 still makes me look back when I walk away.

Thanks for the mint rims @imack !! Nice to meet you.

I think there’s something wrong with mine.
Now every door the trim is bowed up on the ends.
Water gets in.

They wrote it up as “trim doesn’t stay bonded”.

2) Nothing done lol "This is normal, outer window trim/seals are press-fit, not bonded"
3) Nothing done lol " Normal fit for this model series. Normalize sunroof and sunshade, teach in obstruction sensor. Check gap at front of sunshade against other vehicles, normal for this model series."

Note to customer, this vehicle has a wet clutch rather than a torque converter in the transmission which can have a noticeably firmer/harsher engagement when pulling away, particularly when cold."
5) Done!

I gotta tell you I'm pretty disappointed with the trim and sun shade situation.

Dude, this is total BS IMO, especially given the MSRP of this model. Wow.

Sorry you're having to deal with this man. If you're up for it, I would bring it to another dealer and if they can't resolve the issues, I would escalate.

It's sad that you now have to engage in a battle just to have things lined up correctly. There is no excuse for that trim being they way it is... even on a new $30K car.

Have them order new trim pieces for problem areas. I'm very confident it's defective trim. This is unacceptable. I will try to get you pics.

I'm on my way to pick it up and will walk around looking at other E class there and see what I see on the trim situation.
But yeah what a crazy answer that trim is no good even on a cheap bottom tier car.

I agree. Not my car and I'm ticked, too. It made me go out and check the trim on my wagon and it is, luckily, just fine (though its just an E400 Wagon, not an AMG).

Yeah, it's like saying "all the front left wheels fall off, there's only five bolts holding it on so it's normal."

WTF.

I'm thinking this is just a cheap and lazy dealer. (I know, shocking, lol)

Also @I.T. Guy , I know we have different MY/Models, but at least on my 2018 E43, my pano roof blinds close tightly with no light gaps (FYI).

The salesman saw me waved and came to talk when I picked up the car. So I vented to him everything and showed him the pictures of my door trim. He grabeed the keys of another car and we hopped in a new E53 and the pano shade was exactly gapped like mine. Wow. When the sun is glaring in my eye through the slit - I just move my seat a bit and it "goes away" WTH. LOL. I'm moving on not going to go to war over this. Or any of it... service really really annoyed me today so I'm voting with my wallet and just going back to my old awesome Oakville dealer from now on. I don't have the energy to try. I left Missisauga years ago and today really remembered why.

My service experience was a bust. I said I'd try them again, and well, nope.

They said my transmission operation was normal and I got talked down to that it's how a wet throttle (yes they said wet throttle) transmission works. It's an AMG and it's different then normal car. "Yeah I know - I've been driving AMG's for years I still have my old E63 wagon. Look, I'm not an idiot, this was not the normal operation of a wet CLUTCH that's quirky and jerky - that's cool. This was it not working at all." I said don't worry about it, hopefully the adaptation fixed it.

As for the trim I said I wanted reordered somewhere I don't agree the trim is normal. He said it's like that on all the cars so I said "let's go look!" We went to my car and all my trim was pushed down flush. So I said "you must have done SOMETHING" and I showed him all my pictures, he didn't know what to say. I said thank you for fixing it, let's see how it goes. If it pops up again I'll be back - AND HE SAYS "Well, you'd have to take it to the Newmarket Body Shop (an hour+ drive away) because we don't do body work here." which I replied "Actually, YOU would have to take it to Newmarket and have it all repaired under warranty then." "Oh yes it's covered under warranty" "So there IS something wrong then?" <stammering> "Well it's the same as all the other cars" "Ok well let's see what happens and thank you for fixing it today and not sending it to Newmarket, the trim looks great now." But now I'm annoyed.

So now that I was getting annoyed I saw my empty Blackstone oil sample container. "Hey, they never got me my oil sample!" "I'm so sorry sir" "How are you going to get me my oil back? My first oil change is gone forever. You know I paid extra to do an early oil change specifically because I wanted the break-in sample. You took that away from me. I can never get that back." "I'm sorry Mr. But I wrote it on the work order" "That's nice - so how do I know they changed the oil? Because you wrote that on the work order too." <stammering> "I'm sorry Mr. I will have to take it up with my service manager we've been having issues between the front and back and they do things like this all the time and we've been working on it and are always striving for better service and and and "

So I grab the thing they hang on the mirror "QC by" and some guy scribbles his name on it... they had my car for two days, I just paid $814.70 for an oil change and tire swap, and they couldn't even be bothered to wash the car... but the QC dude can still proudly sign his name? They had it over night and no wash? I skipped washing it Sunday on purpose because I was going to the dealer. WTF? My old dealer would wash my car if I just show up and don't even get a service - I'll grab a coffee and they wash it and I look at cars and drive away in a clean car. I was mind blown $800 for an oil and tire change and no wash.

So my sales guy says I can text him direct and he can escalate things and rush things and get stuff done, and if my trim pops up again send him pics he'll order new trim and get them to fix it no problem. Why do I have to text you? How about everyone just does their job? I suddenly had a flash back years ago when the GM said to me "Just call me direct if you need anything, don't go to the service counter". Hands me his card I said sure but that's when I left. When their solution was to deal only with the GM there is a problem.

To add insult to injury I Just unboxed the original rims at home and one of them is covered in tar or grease or something and I spent 10 minutes cleaning it up. It's all over the anti scratch packing material now too. And they got it all over the outside of the boxes too.

/rant

The parts guys were AWESOME. Every time I called they were great and confirmed stuff. Today before service they let me in the back with my scale, we unboxed the wheels, and I weighed them before tires (post coming). Kudo's to Parts. Kick ***!

Sorry I'm still boggled they had my car for two days and didn't wash it. I paid $814.70 for an oil change and a tire swap, and they couldn't find the $ or time to wash my car. My old dealer _always_ had my car washed and inside in a prime spot.
Boggled.

On my bathroom scale so not the most accurate but it is what it is. The box at the end of my pics below has a yellow sticker that says "30 lbs" so looks like my scale is off a pound or two. But, at least is shows there's not a lot of difference in weights in the wheels. Funny the narrower fronts are heavier.

Cross Spoke Black Forged Wheels that came off today:
Front: 30 lbs 213-401-30-00-7X71 AMG Forged Wheel - Front Axle 9.5 J X 20 ET 25 - Matt Black
Rear: 29 lbs 213-401-31-00-7X71 AMG Forged Wheel - Rear Axle 10 J X 20 ET 55 - Matt Black

Twin 5 star that went on today
Front 32 lbs 213-401-71-00-7X36 AMG 5-Twin-Spoke Wheel - Front Axle 9.5 J x 20 ET 25 - Matt Black
Rear 31 lbs 213-401-72-00-7X36 AMG 5-Twin-Spoke Wheel - Rear Axle 10 J x 20 ET 55 - Matt Black

I’m super super happy. More classy looking to me.
I love this look.

Now it just needs spacers and lowering with black wheel bolts. I have them all but need to make sure the transmission is fixed first so I will wait before dinking with it.

Holy **** dude. That service story. I was livid just reading that. There's no way to put the genie back in the bottle with your oil sample now. The trim thing. Ugh. Let us know how Oakville goes.

My own (very) limited experience w/ Oakville service is that they wouldn't send a tech upstairs to remove my Pedal Commander from the E53 trade-in (open the accelerator pedal housing, unplug a molex connector, plug back into original, screw back the housing, done. 5 min job, 0.1 units of labour). I had to schedule an appointment, and they tried to charge me for it and I told them to pound sand, you're doing it for free. I'm dropping premium money on a brand new E63s. Of course they did but I had to escalate to one of the sales managers to do it.

Oh well. I know they treat you quite well there. Hopefully they recognize the trim and pano shade issue. My pano shade doesn't have that issue. I don't care how many cars come with that defect, it's unacceptable. That's the whole point of it.

I hear ya, it shouldn't require conflict to get a valid correction of a failure. I wouldn't want a fight either and what has served me well is just going somewhere else and I hope Oakville will help you.

The other car on their lot that also has a gap in the pano blind just tells me there's another one that requires correction.

Sorry to hear of all the other hassles there! Argh.

BTW: the 5 spokes looks great!!! I wasn't sure about it myself, but seeing it now... good choice!

I went to Sudbury Mercedes for me first service l2 months ago as it is my closest dealer. You are bringing back bad memories for me. lol I has so pissed I wrote this review on GOOGLE that has still not shown up as a public review. I did receive a Mercedes Canada email asking about my recent visit so I gave it to them also. I have not heard anything back form either.

I purchased a new 2021 AMG E63S wagon (this is a 600 HP high performance supercar) from another dealer and it was due for it's first service Thursday June 8/23 and I though I would try the Sudbury dealership as it still the closest dealership to me even though it is 1 1/2 hours away. The plan was to wait on site until the work was done. I was told around 2 hours for an "A" service. I also needed an software update as the Parktronic was giving an error message. I also asked that the rear differential be servicesd as the AMG supplement states it should be changed at 3000kms. The car only has 4000 kms on it even though I have had it for 1 1/2 years and is parked in the winters. I am very fussy with my cars and ensure they are broken in properly and not abused. I had not set up the Mercedes Me app that is included with the car and the resident expert helped me get it activated and told me about it's features. While I was waiting for the service to be done I set some features in the APP including SPEED ALERT which tells me when my car goes over a certain speed that I set the alert at. I set the alert to 90kph. It was not long after I set this I get a notification that my car has exceeded 90kph on the side street beside the dealership. This street is a 50kph street and the map notification shows that it was triggered not very far from the intersection, which to me means it was floored from the intersection and who knows what the top speed was at it onlys tells me that it hit 90kph not the top speed. To say I was pissed would be an understatement. I immediately went to see Mark as he was my contact person for setting up the appointment and I assumed he was the service manager but he explained he was not. Theresa was my contact on arrival to the service deptment and I tried to express my concern with her that there was no need for any test drive and especially to be exceeding the speed limit and excessive acceleration on this new car that was barely broken in. She initally did not seem concerned and that a test drive is normal and is done all the time. I tried to stress that this wasn't on the highway and was over the speed limit and that I didn't bring my expensive car up there for someone to abuse when I don't do it myself. Before I arrived for the service I wondered if I should mention that "No test drives" allowed as I was afraid of this very thing, but talked myself out of it thinking this is a Professional Business with high standards. I guess I was wrong. I asked Theresa if there was not a company policy about this very thing and she said that it had never happened before which I find strange as similar stories are all over the Internet and should be part of basic training. She told me she would have a talk with the mechanic but I felt this whole incident was played down as a non event. I didn't see a business card or mention of a service manager that I could escalate my concern with either. I told her I didn't think I would be back again and will probably be heading to one of the Southern Dealers for my next Service even though it will be more travelling. Very Unprofessional conduct and Customer Service in my estimation. This should NEVER have Happened.

+1 nice to hear re: Newmarket.
I called Oakville today and they are emailing me PDF's of every service I've ever had on my old car so I can have them. They also in 10 seconds told me when my two transmission services were. And the first lady that answered the phone was empowered to help and assisted me right away. I like that.

2023 E63S Wagon
I had the ASR exhaust control flaps fitted at European Automotive in Burlington yesterday.

It sounds GREAT! Starting and at idle just more throaty. Part throttle rocks. It's fantastic. Not obnoxious, just a nice deeper throaty sound. Especially pulling away from a stop part throttle. It's how it should be.

LOVE LOVE LOVE it. More then I thought. It's subtle which I like. If you want loud just get dowpipes. But for me this is the perfect balance. It turned the car slightly to the dark side, in a grown up way that's good.

Did I say it's awesome? Highly recommended.

Reasons I went with ASR:
Flaps stay open when I turn the car off. So on start they are already open which sounds great.
Flaps are 100% open all the time. With OBD flashers they merely only mimick pushing the Peformance Exhaust Button, which means they are still only opening 10%, 20%, 50%, whatever, until 4,000 rpm. ASR it's 100% everywhere in all modes like comfort too. Sounds great in comfort just putzing around. Grrrrrrrrr. Grrrrrrrrr.
No OBD or programming or flashing or anything. I'm paranoid modifying any code voiding warranties.
The ASR brain plugs directly into the flaps using the existing flap wiring. Plug and play and easy to reverse.
I have the option of open or closed at my whim unlike coding it in the CPC which is always on.
The CETE module for flaps seemed confusing to use and got mixed reviews, and I was confused if it required flashing since you use a combination of the stock drive modes and buttons to open and close the flaps. Too complicated for me I just want them open.

Car sounds the bomb! I'm really digging the new wheels and new sound!!

I threw the remote on the phone charging pad for now. If I find a place to stick it with double sided tape somewhere I'll do that if it can be done nicely and OEM-y.
