Lifting window door trim

2024 AMG EQE SUV , 2021 E63S Wagon - gone, 2018 E63S Sedan - gone
I noticed it on my E450 Sedan 2023. They ordered new passenger door and driver door trim. They fixed it under warranty no questions asked. Today when leaving target, they're lifting. AGAIN! This is not a tesla. This is an $84,000 car. While I love this car, that is not cool and visually noticeable. I'll make louder complaint now to them.

And the answer from the dealer is "This is normal, outer window trim/seals are press-fit, not bonded"
That's really bad for a quarter million dollar Mercedes. Geeze.

I believe that the issue is that the rubber lip is not fully seating in the trim groove on the doors. What I found to work is to work the offending trim by pressing down and manipulating it back and forth. That will successfully fully seat the trim. I did this on my wagon which had the driver side trim periodically lift at times and this stopped it for over 6 months. Worth a try.
It’s a long weekend here. Maybe I’ll dink with it myself.
