E63 transmission issue - Car stalls in Drive Slips in Drive and Reverse S213 W213

Anyone know of any perks/compensation/incentives I can ask for? Still no news back from Germany after dropping the pan and sending them pics.
I don't want to be a PITA but if I can easily ask for something they'll give up for not having use of a brand new car for a month... I'll ask!
I already asked my service advisor that question too, waiting to hear back.

So when I popped into the dealer today they are still waiting for a response from Germany. They said typically 1-2 days sometimes 3-4, so tomorrow hopefully is the day.

Great update!
AMG tech called me today, he got his answer back from HQ. Turns out there were metal shavings and burnt fluid in the findings they reported to Germany. He also said all logs showed normal use and nothing out of the ordinary, all "EProm" (their words) and sensor data good, said that all points to something mechanical.
A new transmission and new wet clutch system are both in stock and will be here in two weeks. Then 1-2 weeks to install.![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
I love my dealer! That the AMG tech who exclusively worked on my 2016 and kept it perfect, is now taking care of my 2023, and is empowered to do things right is GOLD pure GOLD to me. Thank you MB Oakville! Best dealer ever.

Good on you and your preferred dealer for taking this case all the way to the supreme court of Affalterbach.
Thanks for keeping us posted...hopefully a new transmission and clutch does the trick. Congrats on the hat

What would this look like? I would assume the replacement will stay covered the full 6 years 160,000kms I bought warranty for? Are you suggesting it can be more? Or maybe less? LMK I can ask the right questions.
Do you think it is wise to ask them to do downpipes while they are at it? <jk>

I don't believe dealer will do such a thing by altering the factory specs.

lol re: downpipes. If you haven't met me in person I just forgot the winky
After this transmission fiasco I'm not modifying anything for a long long time that would cost big bucks to pay out of pocket for. Which kind of sucks - I see so many other people doing mods with impunity. Or do they just not post the horror stories?

Thank you for that. I had not heard of lemmings. Being in I.T. I can see it from that point of view. That would suck. Also not worth an expensive fight one would most likely lose.

I just want to point out they didn’t even sell me the car and are helping. The selling dealer said it’s normal and sent me on my way. The selling dealer also did that with my bad door trim issue too, said it was “normal”. So I took it to my favorite dealer - who unfortunately Mercedes Factory screwed them and me on my allocation and order I had with them for the 2023 - and yet they are still treating me right and happy to see me back. Trim ordered, new trans ordered, happy camper, no fighting no arguing, no escalating, just great service. Like it should be.

Happy to hear the good news! Glad you're taking it in stride. At least you now have light at the end of the tunnel.
Please please file a complaint with MBCA re: Mississauga dealership once this is all said and done, now that you and MBCA have documented proof of the issue and its resolution. No dealership should get away with that kind of ****, especially when they just sold you the car a few months ago.

I knew better. I left Mississauga years ago because of really bad service. And I told the salesman my concern about that when buying the car from them. He encouraged me to try them out for service again, as they had changed ownership from Corporate. So I looked it up and Zanchin Automotive bought them a few years ago so I thought WTH, new owners, they are closer to my house, why not. I very quickly found out nothing's changed. It might even be worse.
Oakville and AWIN for the win! People raz me for keeping the Oakville AWIN license plate cover on my old car. But that's how much I like them, and how good they treat me. I will keep recommending them as much as possible. I won't even mind if they slip their plate cover onto my new car. It really is too bad Oakville got ripped off my order multiple times by Mercedes. Example of the culture at Oakville - when I was there in person this week talking to my service advisor my salesman that lost the sale after working with me for a year to get me a car came up to me all beaming and smiling, shook my hand, asked me how I like the new car, asked how my wife was, just positive vibes. They are in it for the long haul. I handed him a small token gift I brought in case I saw him and he immediately put it in my shirt pocket without even looking at it "SIR! That is completely unnecessary please enjoy your new rocket ship - have a great day". Such a nice bunch of people. And the other day when I dropped the car off I did not book a shuttle they said "let us grab the uber for you" and they sent me on their account. I really can't say enough nice things about them.

Good point. I thought maybe?! So I tested this after you posted thinking I was an idiot. But no, even if I put the parking brake on manually in D or R it holds the car at idle and immediately releases the brake when I touch the throttle.
No issues for the rest of the day so I’m betting tomorrow I get the “can’t replicate customer complaint” which is fine by me, if it never ever comes back. But combined with twice stalling out when putting it in gear my gut says some adjustment or relearning or sensor is out. I just hope it’s not a long long intermittent road.
Looks like I won’t be modding anything any time soon. Also we will see if Mississauga has improved on their service (why I left them). If they haven’t, I’ll be going back to Oakville.
Funny I’m not upset. I feel it’ll get resolved.

Yes having a very similar type issue — see my new post. So far dealer can’t find any codes or replicate. Are you aware of fuel pump recall issued a few days ago? Check that.
mine revs and transmission won’t engage randomly on cold start or and now after driving for an hour and trying to pass another car — I step on accelerator and nothing happens for a few seconds. Very dangerous when maneuvering.

Agree very dangerous and luckily my dealer agreed.
I heard about the fuel pump recall, I should tell the dealer to do that too while they have my car if it applies.
Good luck with your diagnosis. Video it happening if you can - in my case software was 100% up to date, no codes, nothing out of spec, no errors, it was just my word it was happening until I took a video.
It started by stalling and then progressed to slipping and not engaging.
When did you get your car?

Can mods help edit the title of this thread to help people find this in the future? The stalling really was only a minor starting symptom Title could read:
