She arrived on a sunny day.
This time from west coast to east coast. Plycar for the win. Landed at the dealer from the port last Monday in AZ, picked up on Wednesday by Plycar, delivered in Ohio @9am today (Monday). That might be a new record for bi-coastal turnaround. Went straight to Esoteric for nose to tail Xpel with 7 miles on the clock. Fingers crossed Kilian Kirchberg is good at building motors.
Thanks to @Wassaby !

I've dealt with a lot of bad brokers and had some real nightmare deliveries with freelance shippers. Plycar is a dream come true. They're always on time and my stuff arrives with zero damage.

Persistence.
It started a few months back when I called my dealer to order one. I had no idea that they killed the V8 and ordering one was impossible. So I started looking for an available car. My only exclusion on cars I called on were the HUD and distronic. If it didn't have those 2 things, I wasn't a buyer. For that reason I kept my search to any car with an MSRP over 130K. I also desperately, desperately did not want black (I have another black car and keeping it clean is a full time job).
I tried the standard route of having the dealer check the list of what was available and then try to make a trade. That failed. Then I started cold calling dealers based on location looking for a car that wasn't spoken for. No luck. I tried to buy a car from Canada. I used MB's useless 'view inventory' feature but by the time a car appeared there it was already long gone. Then Wassaby posted the list of incoming cars and I started calling those dealers. I offered (sane) ADM, I offered to pay 2 different buyers to walk away, I even offered Naples - who would only sell their E63 wagon locally - to contractually buy cars exclusively from them going forward. Still no luck. I got into the ADM bidding shenanigans on the other black car in NJ and quit when they said "thanks for the offer but we're at 50K over" (which was the same Naples was asking). That's just crazy - especially now. I was on every "waitlist" anywhere that had an incoming car that met my criteria. In the process I gave up completely 3 different times but the stench of failure was killing me. My final attempt was to start re-calling on cars I had been previously told were sold to see if the original buyer had backed out and I finally got lucky at MB of Gilbert. I gave them a deposit and then spent the next month praying the boat wouldn't sink, the transport wouldn't crash or they wouldn't sell it out from underneath me in the interim.
All in all the experience at MB of Gilbert was great - would recommend. Considering the odds I feel like getting a well optioned car in a color we like was a bit of a miracle!

Persistence finally paid off. Congrats again.
Oh, this part, I had exactly same feeling after put the deposit down.
My story was very similar to yours. After all dealers on the list turned me down, I called MB Edison on a car that they previously told me that was sold, before I gave up and put deposit down on a 9% off X7 M60i. The dealer of X7 agreed on the price same day I found the E63, if they agreed one day earlier I would be posting on BimmerPost right now. Initially I scheduled signing two weeks after I put deposit down, and found out I can't wait, took a 6 hours red eye flight the next weekend to NJ and signed to secure it, and flew back on the same day.
