So as the title asks, MB has now made the 590w system from the A-Class? just about standard in all AMG E-Class's, so I'm wondering how to tell that system apart from the better one.

IIRC 2017 and 18 (no idea when it changed) had a non branded stereo and the 1450w Burmester system (Was this called "3D" with no "High-End" moniker like in the S-Class?) that was a fairly pricy option. Right now ONLY the E53 Sedan is able to be equipped with a 3D High-End system, assuming trickle down as the S-Class has moved to a 4D system, every other E-Class is stuck with the base 590w system. I'm looking for a used E-Class as I want a better sound system than the 710w or 590w systems in the C-Class, lot's of people said the E-Class systems sounded better before knowing there was a difference, but I have no idea how to identify the older 1450w system.

The S-Class "High-End" systems are easy to tell apart, just look for the spin out tweeters, but in the E-Class I have no idea if there is a visual difference, an option code or even what years this system was/wasn't avalable.

The E63s sedans with High-End have spin out tweeters.

High end also has speakers where the roof sunglass holder compartment is and in the middle of the roof between the front and rear passengers. Pictured below.

Both of these are correct, there are a lot of kits out there to retrofit the tweeters (because they are cool as hell) so the dead giveaway that it's a legit 3D is the roof speaker.

Can these be retrofit to the wagon? Damn MB cut us wagon owners out of the upgraded system

They definitely can. I think the reason why the wagon didn't get the 3D was the lack of a trunk for subwoofer bass.

Thanks. Any specific kits that you’re aware that we can investigate or that you recommend? I’d love to power up this stereo system some. Along with the quiet exhaust, the stereo is my only other complaint about this car.

The tweeters won't do much other than looking cool brother. ZeferPerformance.com can hook you up with the tweeters. He's got great service and he's an AMG fanatic.

By the way, wagon and sedan A pillar config is different. These 3D tweeters will NOT fit wagon.

Requires new roof panel with speaker cut outs already done,, different amp and the speakers. More than likely new woring but the roof harness might have that (BIG MAYBE)

With out true Dolby Atmos or DTS X ...waste of money.

Spend around $450 you can get the cool vent lights both front and rears!! Been contemplating on doing this mod. Just worried might break some panels during the install...otherwise love the extra ambient lighting.
