E43 - Ceramic Brake Pad Options

Looks like I will be needing front brake pads soon for my 2017 E43. I have good experience with Akebono EURO's on W212's but I could find any ceramic pads listed for E43 on their website. The OEM pads are horrible in terms of brake pad dust. I am sure the pads for E43 were also used on some other models but I have not been able to decode it yet. What are your recommendations for a low dust brake pads front and rear? as I will change all of them if a low dust brake pads exists for E43.

I'm about to replace my pads too and I'm going with PowerStop Z23 Carbon Fiber Ceramic Pads.

Plenty of people recommend them on the forums and have reported that they will also get rid of the WAY too much dust from the OEM pads.

You're welcome. Cool.

I'm planning to go with their full kit with rotors also:

Hi I am in a similar situation. My workshop told me during the last service that I will be due for changing the rear brake pads in a months' time. It has been 2 months since :-). I have bought the Z23's rear brake pads. Could you tell me from your experience will I need rotors too? Also, how many labor hours should I expect to pay for to change just the rear brake pads. Lastly should I wait for the brake pad sensors to show it's time to change the pads or go ahead with it? about 26K miles on the car at the moment.

Thank you in advance.

Real labor is less than 1 hour for pads. Rotors you can have them measure thickness, but I doubt they'll need replacing. You can wait til the brake wear light indicator comes on or just do it whenever convenient. Labor is much more costly than the cost of parts or saving a few bucks wearing the old pads down some more before replacing them.

Please share your experience with the ceramic pads here. I've been also thinking about it but my shop warned me there may be squealing...

I replaced my stock pads at around 5k miles because of random break squealing. No problems with the Z23, haven't noticed much difference in stopping power.

I got the rear brake pads changed since it worked with my schedule and was convenient to get it done. I installed the PowerStop Performance BrakePads Z23-2047. So far I have driven about 125 miles after the change haven't noticed any increased or decreased braking. Minor squeaks but don't think it is out of the norm. I got charged for rear disc skimming and some odd consumables plus pads were sourced by me from autozone + an hour of labor charges. All in about $220 paid for rear brake pad replacement.

I haven't really seen much of a difference from the previous stock to these new pads.
