I haven't posted on here for so many years but I am currently at 65k miles at I got the car with delivery miles. No issues besides a spark plug issue I had, and had to get small things replaced. Just put down pipes after 55k miles and did a simple euro charge tune.

interesting anecdote..

With snow tires, I am not slipping around unlike the A/S tire users (cars, trucks etc).

I always have said... A/S tire half *** work in all conditions.

Quote: Those with high miles, what's been your experience with encountering the dreaded issues (RMS, etc..). I have 35k on my 2019 S213 (bought at 13k) and the thing hasn't let me down once yet. But the comments on the RMS threads always give me a heart attack. I always felt the probability of these major failures was less than what's implied on forum posts, given negative selection bias. Curious your thoughts? I do have a Platinum Fidelity warranty on the car, good through 85k miles and 5 more years, which hopefully should payout in the event of major failures.
Unrelated to RMS Issue.

I do not remember who asked about it, but, I have done 3500 in full replacement of cooling stuff. Radiators, main and secondary, coolant pipes many, front and back. Car decided to add the serpentine belt to its diet and I have also done cam shaft position sensors.

At the moment, I have spent about 5K on stuff. I have rear shocks leaking as well. Will get those done later.

One thing I must say, an advise I was given, if you buy cars with high mileage be prepared to do some work. I got mine for 16,000 dollars US at 160,000miles.

Props for big ***** buying the 160k AMG but dropping more than a quarter of the money you paid for it on repairs doesn’t sound like a good deal

he paid $16,000; and 1/4 of that is $5000 roughly

$21,000 for a 2014 e63 with 160,000 still seems a bit high for its value with all repairs done and more repairs are due

I just hit 72k Miles on my car. Biggest issue I had was needed a new diff which I had pay out of pocket and the dealer did the work. As some of guys know on here I got it with 12 miles when I took delivery in 2019.

I apologize on taking so long to reply back to you and all who wanted more info.

I am aware depreciation is both a friend and enemy and I took my chances. I was aware of the maintenance it may involve as well. I am owner number 7 of this car. I acquired the car about 1 year ago with 160K miles.

Previous to this car, I had a lunar Blue 2013 W212 S class, Base model with AMG package. I loved curving back roads with it, but, the rush wasn't there as much and thus i opted to get this car. Many other cars were considered. Eg. 5th Gen Camaro SS convertible 6MT

I have also made a promise to my self and my father that this car would be the last one I would ever finance. Thus I WILL STICK IT THRU.

I bought it for 16,006.77/= out the door 1 year ago.

Thus far, as mentioned above I have spent about 3500 on a new cooling system (Main radiator, secondary radiator, about 6 pipes and auxiliary tank and coolant). However, I think I have one coolant leak coming from the back of the engine from 1 pipe we may have overlooked.

This VIDEO (
) may be my issue as I hear Glug Glug sounds from the back of the engine on the driver side more often.

I have attached photos for you guys a video as well in response to this.

Again, I was aware of the repairs that may come with it and I do not mind tackling them as I go. This car to me, is worth the effort I have gone through to get it and keep it. Let's see how high she can go.

EDIT.

Video can't post. Too large welp. Also, please pardon how dirty it is.

Some mods and changes will be done. These include front license plate removal and bumper getting done, better mufflers from Corsa before doing a 3 inch exhaust etc etc.

Have a better day today.

Yes that may be true. However, a lot was done before my acquisition. I talked to a service tech at the MB dealer I've been using. He pulled the dealer papaerwork on the car. Last owner addressed a lot of issues.

57k on 2018 Ed1
Glad to see someone with my same year and model post over 150k! Encouraging! I've been through a lot the last 13k miles. I had the RMS/AOS issue fully repaired, fully replace rear air shocks, sets of tires, brake pads, spark plugs, ignition coils, even the oil cap, gas cap, and gas door all broke or went bad. The regular maintenance comes sooner with this car and the bigger stuff is very costly and also comes at low mileage. I hope I've gotten over the hump and can drive it well for another few years. My original intention was to keep it forever, but Im rethinking that.

that steering wheel - has been to hell and back.

Good luck with the car I hope it all works out for you, you've acquired it at a small fraction of new cost, and it looks to be in fair shape, better than I would have thought at 160k miles and several owners but can't see up close. If you're happy that's what matters

You can say that again man. A reupholster is much needed. I did my best with Sonax and a few micro fiber towels but nah, it's toast man.

Thanks for the wishes of luck. I had those taken in a hurry. I will get better ones taken as soon as I am free.

It has the following due to be mechanically sound and then its off to cosmetics;

- Rear Shocks - already got them for a steal 200 a pop and MB dealer confirmed they are in great order.
- Engine mounts
- That one coolant hose prior mentioned
- Spark Plugs and Packs - Got these for a steal too. OE on Prime day.

A step at a time though. A step at a time.

BTW, has anyone gat tips for the transmission. At first I thought I had a DCT until I did some more research and found out it was a different one.

I would hope so. With the maintenance that this car commands I too was at a crossroads so early into my ownership. I thought of backing out so many times, but, each car has its good and bad. take both as they come I would say.

I will send some up close photos and video. Can someone tell me what requirements are there to upload to this forum coz I tried multiple times and the video just won't go through.

BTW, it may take some time to send some. I have been going through tough times in my family and are footing a lot of financial burdens for mom and her closest who stood with us through a lot of tough times. Learnt a lesson from this though, they may be your kin, but, it don't make'em family.
