transmission overheating, expensive repair!
Hit a possum a month or two ago, broke the outer lower drivers side grill covering the small radiator and dented that radiator a little. no apparent leaks, so been driving for 2 months. was in traffic for a while this week and transmission gage turned red, but never go the overheated, pull over actual message.
Dealer says small leak in the system from damage and bad coolant pump... $4,500 to fix it all, WOW!!

Remove front bumper , drain the coolant from the low pressure system , change the damage radiator , vacuum the system , fill the system with the right mixture of coolant , pressure test the system and make sure are no leaks, reinstall bumper . Drive car for 20 min in s+ while watching the temperature , make sure doesn’t go higher than 225 deg . Stop car for 1 hour and check the level in low pressure tank , refill as necessary and you should be ok . Recheck the coolant level for the next couple of days. If the transmission didn’t overheat for too long the coolant pump shouldn’t be damage . Transmission oil change would be recommended. I’m speaking from experience.
