ECU tune / is CPC also required?
reentech is too expensive. Weistec seems to be the sweet spot but also considering PTG and AMR. Welcome any thoughts for those that have these tunes.
but I have seen a lot of people say you must get the CPC as well or there will be problems (limp mode. Others say it just limits the effectiveness of the tune. Does anyone know?
The CPC Tune has these options to choose when you buy it, they come pre-coded and VIN-Locked with:
1) Performance Indicator Adjustment has to do with the display. It changes the read out of the power level. "We do not like to do this because it is not accurate. There are a lot of variables to make this read out correct." - I did not get this option
2) VMAX = no speed limiter
3) Thermal Management = basically keep the intercooler pumps on
4) Exhaust flap control - always open
5) Torque Unlimited - THIS IS THE IMPORTANT ONE that allows all the power from the ECU tune to actually get to the transmission and power train. Of course, this also means you can break the transmission and power train with all the power being allowed through and not managed by the safeties of the stock CPC parameters.
