Profile settings reset to factory overnight. Dome light randomly turned on and off

I have a motion sensing camera in my garage that looks at the car all night. It has never triggered with this kind of activity. It does trigger on spiders playing about in front of the camera and the odd moth flying around, but otherwise is pretty quiet at night. It will also trigger on noise or when the motion sensing light outside the garage comes on and changes the amount of light through the windows.
Don't have to stare at it all night, I get alerts on my phone with pictures, and I can also fire up the system and bring up the triggered events to watch video/sound before and after.

Anyone else want to stare at their car all night? I wonder if this is just some dance it does talking to MB.
Anyhow, I haven't had five seconds to string together so my car still honks when I lock it.
So annoying.
Maybe I'll fix it tonight while enjoying a cigar pondering life.

Well I went over every setting with a fine-toothed comb and the silver lining is I got to update some things like turning lane assist when not in cruise off, change the emergency braking to late from medium, etc. etc. - things I just kept forgetting to do. I even fiddled with and set the most comfortable cruise control gap.
End result t’s even “perfecter” now. Still no idea why it all reset or what’s up with the crazy dome light.

I checked the cameras at the lake house and the dome light is doing it's on/off dance there too. Pretty certain this means we can rule out neighbor kids goofing off and/or thieves.

Just turned off MBUX Interior Assistant/In-Car Assistant interior light helper. It is a nice feature to have, just testing to see all these dome light shenanigans are just from that setting.

If you're in the car, and someone locks the car , with you in it,remotely with the key fob, can you toggle the dome light with the switch as you sit in the drivers seat in this keyfob locked car?

If it's the same time every night it's a software cycling issue of some sort. I wouldn't be surprised at all if there were self diagnostics run regularily to ensure all systems are operational. Yours may be failing to run successfully and reattempting.
The obvious answer would be to have the dealer reload the MBUX/Comand. My car went all unhappy after I picked it up, no radio, items missing from menus (ambient light etc). Dealer reinstalled them and all good.
A tech should know which vehicle subsystem the dome light test is part of, maybe it isn't the Comand/MBUX.
