Need advice!!!!
I’m kinda of annoyed with my local dealership right now because my 2018 e63s went in to get the cigarette lighter fuses replaced and to have the master window switch panel replaced because one of the caps broke off of the master window switch panel on my door. Nothing else. When I picked the car up I come to find 16 miles on it after what should’ve been a routine thing and not involve a thorough road test. I also picked my car up 2 hours after close and it was 129 degree oil temp which means someone got the car hot enough that 2-3 hours passes and it’s still evident someone was driving it. Let me know what you guys think if I’m overreacting or if this is pretty inexcusable.

Fact finding is imperative before any emotional response:
- ask the SA if there was a need for a test drive of the car or "road test" during the commission of any repair work or diagnostics - you just never know. Get the SA to document it in an email or let them know you're clarifying his response on the phone for documentation purposes.
- how have you documented the pre and post mileage?
if there is no reasonable answer you're right to be disappointed but you won't get very far with your concern other than some lame excuse. Your best bet is either invest more emotional energy or drop this dealership and go elsewhere - and you can leave a series of reviews and you can let the SA know you'll review them. They are ultra concerned about the survey you get after the dealer visit so you have some negotiating power there before you leave a nasty survey or review.
MBUSA is pretty hands off dealerships but you can always try that. MBUSA has sucked more and more lately too.
do you have any dash cams? These cars do get abused at dealerships and taken on joy rides, plenty of YT footage including a guys c63 that went on a NY spirited drive, to say the least.

When my 2019 E53 convertible was pretty new, I was able to document with my dash cam, the joy ride taken while in their possession. As a result, in order to placate me, they gave me a 2 year extended warranty. They also asked me, if I wanted the service person fired I told them that was on them, not me. On their service paperwork, you're now required to remove, or turn off dashcams. I guess they have nothing to hide............
Not trying to dismiss your concerns. But the car isn’t brand new, and they seemingly didn’t damage anything.
They should have asked, and if it annoys you, I would vote with my wallet and do service elsewhere, and tell them why.
But I don’t think it rises to the level of compensation, maybe some comped service?

LOL, years ago I had the cops show up at my house to arrest me for running (and getting away). My car at the time was in for service. The service manager was out at 1am racing cops on I80 near Chicago.......

as much as it disappoints me I don’t really care for compensation my family is good friends with the family that owns the string of dealerships in the area they happen to also own the MB one that’s why I was taking my car there. More disappointed than anything because it was my first service encounter there since finding out our family friend was a partial owner in the MB dealership that is about 20 minutes closer to me than the one I was going to. I’ll probably just end up going back to the previous dealership and/or letting the family know what happened. I don’t care to get anyone fired, though an extended warranty would be awesome but I doubt it. When I made the post I was intending on seeing if anyone had found a way to use this as leverage for free stuff, more just to ease the thoughts of maybe I’m just being unreasonable before I

If I were in your shoes and knew an owner, I would mention to them, more as a heads up. He’s gonna be pissed some moron employee was annoying his customers. Dealers make way more on service than they do selling cars. (Which is highway robbery by the way - I suggest you find a good independent at least for regular maintenance).
way I see it, these cars are meant to be driven hard to a set point, then sold. For me it’s 100k or so, for others it’s once their lease is up or the warranty expires. Some folks hold on to em for 200k plus. Sadly I think the quality has gone down hill, and it’s too complicated a car to hold on to 200k, unless you don’t care about $$$.
the amount of money I’ve spent maintaining mine is outrageous, even with an extended warranty. Sure is fun to drive, though.
obviously the guy would be getting fired. Totally different scenario; I’d be getting a check from the dealer, too.

My question to the owner wouldn't be about the firing of the employee that drive it. It would be why their management doesn't have procedures to keep this from happening. Someone should be taken to task, and that should be whomever is in charge of the service department, not just some lackey.
I would agree that you should not be the one to suggest someone gets fired or demand that someone gets fired. That's for the dealership to decide. Definitely express your displeasure to the SA and/or Service Manager and demand to know what controls, if any, are in place to prevent this sort of thing from happening, and stick to the facts as you presented them above (two hours after close, 16 more miles than when you brought it in). Unless you have hard evidence to prove they took it out for fun, accusing them of same only creates a he said/she said situation.
Telling your friend the owner isn't a good idea, there's really nothing good that ultimately comes out of that conversation.
I would simply take it to a different dealership from now on unless your SA is someone you trust and know - sounds like he/she isn't because this was your first visit. Unless your friend is a good friend vs. a casual acquaintance, he/she will never know that you took your business elsewhere.
When I had my e63s wagon I took it in for the common problem of the sunroof rails popping when the chassis twisted turning into an uphill. They said yep, they replicated the problem and fixed it. Only problem was when I picked it up I looked under the front bumper and noticed it had been scratched to hell, which I was able to prove since I had JUST had a clear bra put on the entire front. I said looks like you guys owe me a bumper, to which they said yep, here's an S-class to drive. Later I found out they reported it to Carfax which was an unpleasant surprise.....
