Need advice!!!!
- ask the SA if there was a need for a test drive of the car or "road test" during the commission of any repair work or diagnostics - you just never know. Get the SA to document it in an email or let them know you're clarifying his response on the phone for documentation purposes.
- how have you documented the pre and post mileage?
if there is no reasonable answer you're right to be disappointed but you won't get very far with your concern other than some lame excuse. Your best bet is either invest more emotional energy or drop this dealership and go elsewhere - and you can leave a series of reviews and you can let the SA know you'll review them. They are ultra concerned about the survey you get after the dealer visit so you have some negotiating power there before you leave a nasty survey or review.
MBUSA is pretty hands off dealerships but you can always try that. MBUSA has sucked more and more lately too.
do you have any dash cams? These cars do get abused at dealerships and taken on joy rides, plenty of YT footage including a guys c63 that went on a NY spirited drive, to say the least.

They should have asked, and if it annoys you, I would vote with my wallet and do service elsewhere, and tell them why.
But I don’t think it rises to the level of compensation, maybe some comped service?

If I were in your shoes and knew an owner, I would mention to them, more as a heads up. He’s gonna be pissed some moron employee was annoying his customers. Dealers make way more on service than they do selling cars. (Which is highway robbery by the way - I suggest you find a good independent at least for regular maintenance).
way I see it, these cars are meant to be driven hard to a set point, then sold. For me it’s 100k or so, for others it’s once their lease is up or the warranty expires. Some folks hold on to em for 200k plus. Sadly I think the quality has gone down hill, and it’s too complicated a car to hold on to 200k, unless you don’t care about $$$.
the amount of money I’ve spent maintaining mine is outrageous, even with an extended warranty. Sure is fun to drive, though.
obviously the guy would be getting fired. Totally different scenario; I’d be getting a check from the dealer, too.

Telling your friend the owner isn't a good idea, there's really nothing good that ultimately comes out of that conversation.
I would simply take it to a different dealership from now on unless your SA is someone you trust and know - sounds like he/she isn't because this was your first visit. Unless your friend is a good friend vs. a casual acquaintance, he/she will never know that you took your business elsewhere.
When I had my e63s wagon I took it in for the common problem of the sunroof rails popping when the chassis twisted turning into an uphill. They said yep, they replicated the problem and fixed it. Only problem was when I picked it up I looked under the front bumper and noticed it had been scratched to hell, which I was able to prove since I had JUST had a clear bra put on the entire front. I said looks like you guys owe me a bumper, to which they said yep, here's an S-class to drive. Later I found out they reported it to Carfax which was an unpleasant surprise.....
