Catted downpipes

Might have been discussed a bit before but I'm thinking about catted downpipes for E63, seems like it wont pass emissions test? Even with a 400 cell cat? Im assuming that's with putting the prong inside the exaust but CEL should not be problem to put out with a tuner?

The second thought then, which brand to buy? Seems like some brands buy from china and put their logo on the downpipe? Alibaba has downpipes for 600USD which look exactly the same as many other brands out there. Supersprint make their own with the possibility to choose catted but then we are talking about 3000 USD per side...

I've seen it, but it doesn't answer my questions. Most people seem to go catless, which won't work in my country, but if catted would work, then that would be great. Someone said in one thread that even 400 cell catted wouldn't pass inspection. I guess there are different types of depth in the exhaust inspection. In my country some types of cars, a computer is hooked up to the car and checked for codes, no physical measuring in the exhaust... The smell catless would bring would most likely raise suspicion thouhg...

wouldn't you need to know specifically what would trigger your country to fail a car in emissions?

wouldn't a local tuner in your country/region know this info given it would be a common customer concern?

and the links answered some of your concerns as to what brands to buy.

good luck.
