I found this stuck to the windscreen and it's from the factory, as mine was a Japanese delivered car and they have a real thing for dash cams I wonder if it's a rare option elsewhere?

 

Most modern factory MB dashcams are integrated as it uses the AR camera. I don't think there was ever AR available on this vehicle. This dashcam might be OEM but it is probably a purchase from the parts department not come installed from factory, so a dealership ad-on.

Yes every single booklet and manual in the car is in Japanese including the dash cam.
