I picked up a Noco Genuis10 (10amp) to charge/maintain the battery in my S213. Coupled with a their Eyelet Terminal Connector, which I have sticking out at the top of the corner of the hood, means it's super quick & easy to connect when needed without popping the hood.
man, if someone messed with your car and simply popped the top of that connector on a rainy day - short between black and red... that would be a bad day.

Haha, fair point. It's very rare that the car's parked outside and you'd kinda have to be looking for the connector but good call to tuck it back under when the situation calls for it.
With these drop outs, I hope life does continue and not drop you off at the hospital. The whole thing is really unsettling to read about and I'm sorry you're going through it. The cars of these days are really annoying (to me) and I can't imagine buying something brand new ever again......and I'm in the market!
I’m not worried. It seems smart enough to keep working just fine within defined safety parameters (C) while it shakes its head.
Connecting mine to the trickle charger, solves two issues, it helps to lift up the hood and allow excessive heat out of the engine bay and then I connect the battery to the battery tender to maintain that. And perhaps, a third benefit is that it forces me to look at the engine bay for anything unusual, leaks, etc.
Its become ritual.
Thank you for some added zen to my life. I’m quite enjoying the little bit of intimate car time introduced to daily routine.
I chose not to use the quick connect even though there’s a provision for one (red arrow). I didn’t want the risk of the positive lead flopping around possibly rubbing and chafing itself or paint.
These cars need at least periodic charging no matter how they're driven. I go by the auto stop-start. I leave that stupid thing turned on solely as a battery charge indicator. When the engine only stays off for 15 seconds or so at a light I know it's time to hang the charger on it that night.
It discharges for a lot of reasons. Tons of electronics never go to sleep. If you give it a spirited run, the fan runs for a while after the car is parked. You might be surprised how low your battery voltage is.
I use the 5A CTEK. You might be surprised to find the battery needs more than overnight to fully charge the first time you top it up. Maybe even 48 hours. This is a must have for these cars.
Thank you I picked up the 5 too and started leaving stop start on. Car wasn’t stopping!
After the first overnight of charging car would stop for 10-15 seconds.
After the second overnight of charging the CTEK finally indicated charged and stop start works perfect. The car can stay stopped for a whole traffic light, the entire time waiting at the drive through window, etc.
I still get a 1 second flash of “12V Battery see owners manual” that immediately goes away itself once in a while so will get it all checked out, pressing the dealer until I get no more 12V errors. The error has always come and gone and I’ve been ignoring it due to alert fatigue. Now it seems relevant.
So far no suspension malfunctions, no reboots! Not going to use CarPlay for another week or two before introducing it again.

I havent been driving my E63 for a couple of weeks. Last night I took her out. The rear was aired down, and usually pops right up as soon as I unlock the car. Cranking was slower, and the rear didn't rise until the car was running. I usually every couple of weeks throw my car on the NOCO that I have and fully charge the battery. I usually give the batteries for both cars a full charge twice a month.
