Yes Mercedes Me which I usually never go into, but did to try and see the last update.
So funny thing
While in Mercedes Me I see the yearly subscription expired in May. Whoops. So I buy another year to get all the features reactivated that I never use lol - like geofencing, car tracking, speed limit etc. because there is ONE feature I love - the "you left your car unlocked do you want to lock it now?" - I seem to do that once in a while.
Anyhow
I purchase the subscription last night. Well today my screens are all messed up. I notice it's set to guest profile. Oh, no biggie, I switch to my profile.
Well.
Wrong Dash, Favourites gone, gestures gone, Seat Settings gone, my profile all jacked up. Even my HID is not HID'ing.
So much so when I got to work and locked the car <GASP>IT HONKED OUT LOUD <GASP>.
How embarassing.
So I need to go through and do all my setting again, from scratch, coincidentlly because I renewed my subscription last night?
Man all this tech is a headache when it doesn't work.
I've renewed my services twice now, yes I'm the same I really only use the remote lock in case I've forgotten. I haven't had any hiccups when I've done it. I renewed a month early and then second time I think I renewed a month after, something like that.
Happened again today in the city at a red light. Infotainment screen froze on Apple Car Play. Touch screen as well as console home buttons etc. did nothing. Then black screen and AMG logo. While still stopped the car switched itself to C so I used the steering wheel dial thingy to turn to S . After 1-2 seconds it flipped itself back to C. I did this multiple times - putting it in S or S+ and it kept flipping itself back to C. I actually drove away from the light in S and it flipped back to C. As soon then as the infotainment was booted up again it let me flip to S, stayed, and everything was "normal" again. And this time it appears none of my setting were lost.
I did get a quick flash of the "12V Battery" error message yesterday so my bet is it's a voltage thing!
Life is getting in the way of addressing it immediately. So until life lets up a bit I will keep on driving and see what's next. It seems safe enough - car knows and sticks to C until stuff reboots, so, yeah.

Not I - I daily drive it so it should never need a trickle.
I got the dreaded “Do Not Exceed 20km” suspension malfunction today so when I got home I unhooked the battery and was going to remove the Cete lowering module. That’s when I noticed the plastic slider lock clip that secures the Cete to its own pigtail was pulled out. The Cete seemed still plugged in - so I unplugged it, blew on it plugged it back in and pushed and the locking clip in and it snapped positively.
It's sad that all these computers and sensors will junk these cars far earlier then they would otherwise need to be junked.
Did anyone ASK for all these features? It's like the car manufacturers are competing against each other leaving the actual consumers with rotten eggs.

Get it checked out, My car had a ambient lighting glitch when one of my doors completely turned off and came back on.
Not I - I daily drive it so it should never need a trickle.
These cars need at least periodic charging no matter how they're driven. I go by the auto stop-start. I leave that stupid thing turned on solely as a battery charge indicator. When the engine only stays off for 15 seconds or so at a light I know it's time to hang the charger on it that night.
It discharges for a lot of reasons. Tons of electronics never go to sleep. If you give it a spirited run, the fan runs for a while after the car is parked. You might be surprised how low your battery voltage is.
I use the 5A CTEK. You might be surprised to find the battery needs more than overnight to fully charge the first time you top it up. Maybe even 48 hours. This is a must have for these cars.

Gotcha, obviously you drive more than 45-60 minutes (don't yell at me, MB says it themselves in the email when in battery level critical condition) on the highway for at least once and not constantly on/off the engine? (Thanks start/stop) : )
Forget it, unplug the battery sensor on the 12V battery, kills the start/stop, and decrease the voltage swing of the alternator of charging the battery, so the battery doesn't actually drain on idle. http://mbworld.org/forums/mercedes-t...s-voltage.html

I understand MB electronics are very sensitive to voltage changes, thanks for mentioning the fan, I am curious, how much power does the fan use anyways?
Connecting mine to the trickle charger, solves two issues, it helps to lift up the hood and allow excessive heat out of the engine bay and then I connect the battery to the battery tender to maintain that. And perhaps, a third benefit is that it forces me to look at the engine bay for anything unusual, leaks, etc.

No! Only about 15 min city during the week. Never use stop start. Lakehouse is only 28 minutes away.

Should we start posting the voltage (in workshop menu) of the battery and start comparing? It would help if we share the production date and the time stamp on the battery as well. Check the 48V mild hybrid battery voltage in the workshop menu as well.

With these drop outs, I hope life does continue and not drop you off at the hospital. The whole thing is really unsettling to read about and I'm sorry you're going through it. The cars of these days are really annoying (to me) and I can't imagine buying something brand new ever again......and I'm in the market!

There is also the downsizing, noise regulations, eco regulations, keep what you have as long as you can although I do admit a W213 E 63 S is a great vehicle, when it works. It is still more reliable than the E Performance stuff MB pretty much expect you to have a lifetime warranty on to maintain it. That is a truly disposable "machine."
I picked up a Noco Genuis10 (10amp) to charge/maintain the battery in my S213. Coupled with a their Eyelet Terminal Connector, which I have sticking out at the top of the corner of the hood, means it's super quick & easy to connect when needed without popping the hood.
