How to: Face Lift center console on pre-FL
Patient: 2018 E63s Edition 1
So as everyone knows, the Edition 1 (at least in the USA) came with a carbon fiber trim pieces.
So me being the curious person I am, had a face lift center console trim.
So the good news, it is ALMOST a direct fit in the pre-FL 18 E63s.
The only slight modification needed is the vent brace beneath the console, specifically the area circled.
That part interferes with the phone holder/ash tray rear. It is longer by 1/4" / 6.35mm.
So the "modification" is to this bracket. A quick oscillator saw cut.
and the FL panel fits without issue.
Note: I did not put the electronics as I do not have them on hand.
Note 2: The C257/A238 console also fits.

I was doing it to make sure it fits... I put the OE Carbon trim back as i do prefer it.
With that said. It would not be "difficult" to remove material to allow the clock to fit again.

the BIG difference is that the FL center console does not have the rounded cut out for the clock which is a quick grinder/hole saw away from fixing.

Honestly, the clocks position is in a real awkward place and when I have the phone connected to the car, i get time there.
With that said. It would not be "difficult" to remove material to allow the clock to fit again.
