Had a deal worked up, time/date scheduled to come to sign the contract, loan approved. Day before all is scheduled they sell the car b/c someone simply walked in.
This type of business practices should not be tolerated. They simply wasted my time, ran my credit twice without my authorization I had loan approved already via PenFed.

 

that is ridiculous - did they offer any excuse for this practice?

 

not at all, just that it was a walk in. made no sense to me at all.
i am going to contact mbusa to file complaint.

Point blank, until you sign on the dotted line. There are usually no holds. First come first serve with the person actually signing contract taking the car.

The days of "verbal" contracts ESPECIALLY in South Florida are none existent.

 

Did you put any money down to hold the car?

 

Before I bought my 19, I was trying to buy a 20. I live in AZ but the car was in CA. I could not get to the dealership, for almost 48 hours. It was the car I wanted.... MB CPO, CCB, 3D Burr, ect. I called and asked if I could leave a deposit to hold the car. They said no and I refuse to purchase something this expensive without physically being there. The car sold the next day. Pretty crappy.

My 19 was at a well known dealership here in AZ. I was lucky and was able to pay $1000 to hold my car for 72 hours before I purchased it.... However with all the issues with my 19, sometimes I think maybe buying the 20 remotely could have been a better option. Who knows.

 

I had my trade in appraised, they asked for copy of the bank loan so they can prepare the paper work for the next day.

the finance manager specifically said it was fine, they are able to hold the car for 2 days since pen fed had approved the loan check was cut out and mailed. this transaction and experience was nothing but short. will never step a foot into that dealership. after leaving them a review on google, now the gm wants to speak.

 

Still a crappy situation. Hopefully something good will come of this.
