I might have jumped the gun, but I've ordered some OEM Burmester 3D tweeters, the type that rotate out when switched on, to replace my standard Premium (810) black tweeters.
I'm now wondering whether it is going.to be possible to fit them without a load of hassle and possibly needing other stuff? I note that the wiring is somewhat different to the Chinese clones.
Does anyone know, is it gping to be possible to fit these, or am I going to need extra bits in order to do so?
It depends, the OEM 3d/4d tweeters are controlled from the door module. It might need coding but you do have the right idea.
So, do you know if the module will already be in the door even if the original build spec had the standard black tweeters, rather than the silver rotating ones?
I know the speakers currently in the car don't actually have any wires themselves - there's simply a connection to plug in the car's speaker cable to pins on the speaker.
