Matte Orange 2012 WALD CLS63

Wald International, a growing Japanese tuning company, released details of their tuning package for the C218 Mercedes-Benz CLS back in March. Today we spotted this CLS in North America at SEMA 2011. Wald International focused only on the aesthetics of each vehicle. This Mercedes definitely stood out to us.

Wald have provided their complete ‘Black Bison’ kit for this car. It includes an aggressive new front fascia, new LED daytime running lights, ventilated fenders and an aerodynamic side skirt. At the back, there’s a new set of rear air vents, a roof spoiler, boot spoiler, diffuser and quad-exhaust system fitted by Royal Mufflers. It looks as though all the parts are finished in carbon fiber.

I just got back from the show and saw this car in person & I must say it was freaking fugly, wrapped in orange vinyl wasn't the best choice for this car.I did like the wheel size choice 22s in the rear 21s in the front notice I said size because I also did not like the wheel choice but that just me.

Mixed emotions except for color which is a positive no.

One takes a elegant design and then twists and distorts it to sell their wares. Sometimes it works and other times it is a design disaster as in the case.

This is a poor example with some parts (fish gills) contrasting on the sides in the wrong manner as being too aggressive against other body parts that do not blend in or compliment. The aggressiveness of the rear fascia works for me.

Just my $.02.

I was wondering about wheel size.
The picture above clearly shows the front tires being 21", but I wasn't sure about the rear.

Thanks for confirming.

I wish I knew what springs they used to lower the front end.

Agreed.

One other aspect I find very strange is the side fender vents.
I think those two slats or "fins" are out of place and why does the body line across the side of the car get intersected by the line from the vent???

That just looks .

BMW 7 series
i think the Misha Design kit looks a lot better

and here is a picture of the WALD kit without the vent on the front fenders or the rear bumper

does look better then with the vents, for those who dont like the kit?

Your welcome, I also asked about lowering and he said they used links up front and module in the rear.

Those wheels look incredibly heavy. Mods that hurt performance=stoopit.

I want to see a picture from the front to see that bumper treatment. A lot of the other things are definitely pushing it.

Now that explains it.
It appears this is a CLS550 which uses MB's Airmatic on all four corners.

I hope someone develops springs to get a CLS63 to go that low.

Thanks again for the feedback.

Ok, hold on. Links in the front & a module in the rear would work on a 63, as the CLS 63 uses springs in the front and airmatic in the rear. So where'd the non-AMG conclusion come from?

I am not into this Wald design since it's repeated over and over same concept on every car they do! The only single part in this case that I would buy, would be the side skirts, they look differen aggressive like the new C coupe black series.

Just got back from the show and looked inside .....its definitely a cls550 ...I looked inside and the gear shifter is on the steering column I took a picture, it didn't come out to good because of the window tint.I also checked back brake calipers, the front ones had amg sticker on one side and nothing one the other

That's one great looking Subaru WRX! What's that you say?? It's a CLS? You're kidding, right??!! That thing's just waaaayyyy to ugly! What a waste. The only redeeming fact is that they didn't waste an AMG, and just toasted a "base" CLS.

Actually, aside from the suspension comment, if you look at the brake discs front and rear then you know it's not a 63.

I believe mods on German cars should be left up to the Germans.
