My favorite gadgets
I put together this list of some of my favorite gadgets on this car...some are useful, some are useless but cool. If you read your manual, there won't be anything new for you.
1. You can close the trunk from the inside using the same button that you would use to open it, located inside the driver's door
2. To jump to another radio channel or another track when listening music, press star (*) and then punch the number of the track or radio channel.
3. Active park assist: For parallel parking, when you found your parking spot, a "P" sign with an arrow to the right should appear in the dashboard. Shift to reverse and a message will ask if you want to use park assist. Press OK and the car will take care of the wheel, you take care of gas and brake.
4. To automatically tilt the mirror-s down when backing up, shift to reverse and adjust the mirror position the way you like (usually to see the rear wheel). You can the save this position through your seat memory. When you shift to drive and move forward, the mirrors will go back to their original position.
5. Hold brake function: when the car is still, just press the brake pedal a bit further and a hold message will appear. You can release the brake pedal and it will hold the break for you (a bit like a golf cart) on a traffic light for example. You can shift to neutral or drive and it will still hold. The function is canceled when you press the gas pedal.
6. Adaptive high beam: when you switch to high beam and your beam setting is on A for automatic, the high beam will adjust as needed to get lower if you follow another car or will get back to normal if there's a car coming your way. It will get back to high beam when there is no more car detected.
7. Residual Heat: If you need to keep the cabin warm after you stop the engine, press "rest" on the climate control and it will use the engine heat to keep the cabin warm.
8. On the passenger side, you can adjust the plastic band just above the net to hold a bottle by pressing and sliding the square plastic part from the front toward the passenger seat.
9. You can keep food or drinks cool in the glove box by opening the air vent at the top inside the glove box.
10. You can stream music from you favorite tablet or mobile phone through Bluetooth...useful when your kids want to share their latest favorite song with you.
11. You can open and close all windows and sun roof when outside the vehicle by pointing the smartkey to the driver's door handle and pressing and holding lock (to close) or unlock (to open). To close you can also press and hold the sensor on the handle.
12. Lane keeping assist will make the wheel vibrate when you start changing lane without signaling (deemed to be unintentional).
13. Blind spot assist will show a red triangle in your outside mirror is there's a car in your blind spot, and it would beep if you signal.
14. If you paddle shift while in C, S or S+ mode, you can go back to full automatic by holding the right paddle.
And I haven't tried the race start feature yet!

I forgot to add on this point that if you hold the left paddle while in full automatic (C, S or S+), it will hyper downshift to the lowest gear without reving the engine in the red zone...Hold tight if you tried this feature above 60mph ...

14: Like Mr. Happy says, hold the left paddle down (or pull/hold transmission lever to the left), and it will shift down to the lowest gear possible. Once you're done, you can hold the right paddle down (or pull/hold transmission lever to the right), and it will shift back into normal mode (C or S, where it returns to an automatic/normal). This only works in Comfort or Sport mode.

Just found a new one. When looking for a song on your ipod, instead of turning the center dial endlessly to get where you want to go, you can use the number keypad on the dashboard. For example, if I want Pink Floyd in the artist menu, I press "7" for P on the keypad which corresponds to letters "PQR". May be an old trick for some of you though...

Is there a way to put the high beams on so they work constantly? All I can deterimine is to pull back on the high beam stalk, but as soon as you let go, the high beams go off. I have never had my high beams turn on when in the automatic position.

By the way, I would like MB to put up a screen where I can see the constant changing longitude and latitude and position as well as signal strength of satellites.

My highbeam is on constantly as long as I push the stalk forward. The adaptive high beam as you had described only work when I enable it in the lightning section.

My mistake. Drove it the following morning and noticed it. However, I would still love the Garmin presentation of location and signal strength of individual satellites as well as the location of the moon and the sun.
