While Movado is more of a fashion thing without much horological merits, TAG is actually a good brand for the money which we do order for clients on a special order basis but we do not stock. It is strictly a business decision as we often work on a % based margin and we try to keep brands of $5,000 and up. The revenue from low priced brands simply does not allow us to operate on the level we do. Same reason a Mercedes dealer who takes a Toyota in trade will wholesale the car and not put it on the showroom floor. We are known as a high end watch dealer and we keep certain brands in stock. Hope that clarifies it somewhat.

I don't know why this is an issue to some members. If you want to buy a watch from an authorized dealer, do it. Some people prefer to save money when buying high end items from reputable sellers. As long as the warranty card is stamped by an authorized dealer, you have no problems getting it serviced.
But I agree with you. It's not an issue as long as the customer knows what he is and is not buying.

It is a fashion brand just like Guess or Gucci watches and if the look appeals to you then it does look it is just not regarded as a high end watch brand within the industry, that's all. Most Movados are quartz and should keep perfect time as they run on a battery. Wear it in great health.

I bought one of my Breitlings from a watch store in NYC that isn't a Breitling dealer. It was brand new and had a warranty card stamped by an authorized dealer in the US without a date of purchase (which this guy filled in when I bought it). I had no problems with the watch during the warranty period but when it came to being serviced, Breitling never questioned where I bought it.
