Slight Vibrations

A new set of tires/wheels was installed by my local MB dealership a few days ago. On the highway, I noticed a slight vibration with my steeling wheel at 120 KMH. This vibration would go away after 130 KMH go the way to 180 KMH. I did not drive pass 180 KMH.

Talked to MB, they said they would balance them again at my next visit. Is this strickly a wheel balancing issue?

yes it's probably just unbalanced wheels. If it vibrates when braking at all then rotors are warped but to me it sounds like you need to re-balance them

If one or more wheels are not balanced properly, wouldn't it vibrates more and more as the speed goes up?

I feel the vibration (on my steering wheel) between 120-130 KMH but it goes away after 130 KMH all the way to 180 KMH.

I had a steering vibration at speeds between 60 and 70 mph (96-112km/h) and a low-speed braking vibration at speeds <30mph. Ruled out wheels by installing brand new tires and balancing them at a tuning/racing shop. Screwed-up brakes were a suspect (usually referred to as "warped rotors" which is not quite correct - it is usually caused by uneven brake pad material deposit and resulted uneven thickness of the rotor that develops over time).

The problem in fact was worn-out thrust arm bushings. All symptoms described above disappeared after the dealer replaced the bushings under warranty. Has been flawless since (10+ K mi)
