Like most of you, I have a unidirectional spare (GY Eagle F1 GS-D) on my '01E430. What gives?? Mine works well for right side of car but not on other side. Is there any safety issue if I use it on the right side? Does Goodyear know this? Do they still maintain the speed rating when mounted like this (I know you're not supposed to go over some lame speed limit with the spare on)?.

Same on '99 E55. The spare wheel should have a sticker adviseing not to exceed 50mph. It took me hours to remove it when I was rotating the spare.
It will not make much of a difference when using your spare in a temporary situation. I have seen people driving with backwards mounted tires and they could not tell the difference.
