Howling sound with new wheels/Michelin PS2s

Yesterday I upgraded the wheels on my CLK500 to F19x8.5 (235/35) and R19x9.5 (265/30). Since then, I have noticed a howling sound, most noticable on the freeway (i.e. at speed). The sound is not 100% consistent in terms of pitch, as it tends to fluctuate a bit depending on bumps. I suspect the sound may be coming from one or two tires, but not all (really hard to tell). I did not have an alignment done when I changed the wheels, but did when I had it dropped a few months ago.

I don't see any signs of rubbing on the tires or body. Any ideas what the cause could be? Alignment? Mounting issue?

Exclamation Hogh Performance Tires & Noise

ddensity - Not sure what tire you upgraded from, but the PS2, will most likely be noisier than the previouse tire. The tread design on the PS2 (although, not as agressive as some Ultra High Performance Tires) will produce some tread noise, especially as the tire usage goes over 5,000 miles. A price most of us are willing to pay for the performance. - Bob

I'd check the tires and make sure they are mounted properly. I have seen the tire go on backwards before with the outside on the inside. Make sure it is rotating the proper way.

I was running Michelin Pilot Primacys before these. I'd be really surprised if this sound was normal from the PS2s.

All 4 are mounted in the right direction ...
