Offsets confuse me
Just to start off, I've searched, so please spare me all the STTF replies.
I still, after doing lots of searching, found out what exact offset for our cars is correct. I'm looking at this set of SL55 AMG rims that I fell in love with.
The offset, according to the auction site, is 46mm. The site claims it will fit my car. HOWEVER, it doesnt say if it requires the use of spacers or not.
This completely throws me off and I don't wanna spend the money on the rims and later find out that they wont fit and I gotta spend another 500 on spacers to get em to fit.
On the other hand, I've heard that 35mm is the optimal offset for our cars, but on another set of wheels I was looking at, the offset is 37mm, which kinda threw me off. Called the guy and he said they would fit no problem without spacers.
So at the end of the day, is it better to get rims with a higher or lower offset, and what will affect the ride of the car in a negative way at the end of the day. I don't wanna have to put spacers on, and I dont wanna roll my fenders, its a leased car.
Thanks for all the help.
Oh, and here are the links on the various rims I was looking at.

For 2gs, replica rims and tires seem a lot so I'm having my doubts. And these are the ones with the 37mm offset.

And the Sl55 rims, i think are drop dead gorgeous, which I think would look really good on the car. Plus, for the price, cant be beat. Just worried bout the fitment.

These seem pretty cheap, but there in Canada. Makes no difference to me. The guy emailed me back, said the offset was 38mm on em.
