Question about tires, spacers, etc.

Question about tires, spacers, etc.

I just got my 2000 S500 a few months ago and am fairly new to the forum. I recently purchased some used 20" Lorinser LM5's but haven't had time to do much research or purchase any tires and have a few questions:]

1. How do I know if I need the "spacers" that I keep reading about in other threads?
2. What would be a good tire to purchase if I'm on a budget (hopefully not much more than $1,000)?
3. What would be a good snow tire to put on my current AMG rims? I don't know the exact measurements but the current tires are 245 45ZR 18 and 275 40ZR 18.
4. Where would be a good place to buy the chrome lug nuts and wheel locks?

I appreciate any feedback that anyone can give me. I haven't really posted anything on the forum but I read it everyday!

If you put the wheels on and they hit the calipers, etc then you need spacers (hopefully you will not)

Toyo T1-R is a great value and a good all around performer. Contiental CS2 is also within the range (just about)

Any other advice? I'm getting ready to take the car with me when I transfer to Germany next month--any suggestions on good snow tires for the 18" AMG's?

Also, if I'm ordering of off a website like tire rack, what size tire would I need for the 20"X9 and 20"X10?
