new BFG tires
looking at BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW 2, 225/45YR17 on stock 2002, C230, C7 rims. saw them on tirerack as a good replacement for orginal Continental ContiSportContact. order them. the install won't install them because orginal equip tire is a 91W as opposed to the BFG 90Y load rating. Is this really an issue?

While, in theory, the installer is correct but, he is grossly uninformed of the facts of this particular installation

all of the following numbers are based on your 2002 C230
the OE tire:
225/45-17
Pilot Sport from Michelin
service description: 91Y
Maximum load capacity: 1356 lbs.
MB recommended tire pressure: 28f / 32r (based on fully loaded + high speed use)
load capacity at the recommeded pressure: 1222f / 1301r
BFG KDW2
225/45-17
service description: 90y
Maximum Load Capacity: 1323 lbs.
For Proper Load Capacity 36psi is recommended.
you can print this information out and show it to the installer or have him reference the 2006 Tire Guide
