Tirerack is pretty good about showing you which wheels will fit your vehicle. How can you be sure if you buy used wheels from a local place, for example?

E.g. Tirerack says 17x8 +35mm offset and 18x8 +31mm offset for a 1985 W126 sedan -- are those the only 17" and 18" specifications that will fit such a car? Or, will 17x7.5 or 18x7.5 or 18x8.5 work as well?

For example, a local seller has 17" MB CLK55 wheels where the fronts are 7.5" while the rears are 8.5". Also the front wheels are a +37 offset and the rears are a +30 offset. Will these fit a 1985 W126 380SE?

Anyone have feedback / previous experience with the ASA Type 8 16" wheels?

I don't see the similar but possibly better-looking AT Italia Type 8 16" wheels on tirerack any more -- guess they're completely out of stock.

Luke, thanks for the heads up re: 7.5 width...
