Best Brakes money can buy?

What are the best brakes money can buy for a Mercedes? I have heard Brembo or Renntech. I have also heard that Brembo makes brakes for Renntech and Renntech finishes em off? Also how much damage with this do to your pocket?

Thanks in advance,
AmGbOy

I have a slightly used set of Brembo 13.1" big brake kit that will work on the E55 with silver calipers for 2250...retail is 3300. The kit has less than 50 miles on it.

contact me for more info peter@wheelexperts.com

i'm surprised after that long 8 or 9 page thread about c32 brakes, no one really replies...

but anyway, there's an interesting story about big brake kits in the september issue of car and driver. they even tested brembo's lotus and f50 brake kits...result? 40-0 no sig diff, 60-0 a little shorter, but that's with 25 repeated stops...90-0..well, they only did 4 stops with stock b4 cause it started to fade so bad they got scared, while the big brake kits continued to deliver shorter and consistent brake distances...

hey man...while Brembo is a good, and well-known brake manufacturer, I need to tell you that before I bought the APs, I did a lot of opinion gathering, and trade research, only to come to the conslusion that AP is truely the finest set of brakes in the world. I had them put on my Audi, and love them. The car stops very well now, with no pedal fade at all. They are larger and lighter than the Brembos, and are a newer design. The Brembo brake design is around 8 years old for both the Merc and the Audi. I think you really should check out Stillen for information on their kits. They are selling the CLK kit for something like $2,300 brand new with stainless lines, Ferrado pads, and 13" cross drilled and slotted rotors. Similar to mu Audi kit. www.stillen.com
