Brake dust spots removal, HELP!!!

I didn't have much time last week to clean the car or at least keep the wheels clean (I was rolling on black front wheels by the weekend, I hate MB brake pads !)
Sunday I washed the car and noticed some spots on the wheels, I can remove them with my finger nail after a few strokes but there are too many of them, here is a couple of pictures, what do you guys recommend, I have the wheels off the car to make the detailing easier.

You can try P21S, if it's tough stain then get the P21s gel

I figure theres a good chance you did, but have you tried tar remover? That always worked on my alloys, scared to use it on my chrome wheels though. You may not even have the same crap on your wheels that i had, i think mine was just tar from the roads, maybe thats not what yours is, i dont know, but tar remover was painless for me. Good luck.

the product i have is actually bug and tar remover, i think i bought it at PepBoys or a similar auto shop. It is in a spray can, i just spray it on and wipe it off with a paper towel. Takes moderate scrubbing sometimes. its safe on paint and wheels. let me know if you cant find it, ill call home and see if i can figure out the exact product name.

If the tar remover doesn't work, my Audi and Toyota frequently gained this type of build up on the rims, and I used an extremely worn toothbrush lightly over the surface with Mother's wheel cleaner. It worked well, and has yet to damage the wheel surface or finish. Good luck!! I think this is why I love the 280...simple little hubcaps!!

I can't really help you get the spots off since I've never this problem...but be careful about what you use on the finish (since this is not polished metal but clearcoat paint). I would try the bug/tar remover, then maybe a claybar.

After you are satified they are clean you should wax (or better, zaino) the wheels...this will make them easier to clean and hopefully keep this brake "chunks" from sticking to the wheels in the future. Zaino is better since wheels get hot and wax gets really soft when heated.
