Storage of 4 new tires and rims for 3 to 4 years.........
Gentlemen,
Any ideas, hints, recomendations regarding the storage of 4 brand new tires mounted on brand new stock rims from Mercedes. The deal is I take poccession of a 2007 E280 on Thursday this week, I have seen the car in the bonded warehouse but not overly thrilled about the 16" stock wheels. Have checked about buying 18" replacements including tires which should cost in the nieghborhood of USD 6000 to 7000. Now with Indonesians they always want a bargain in the used car market and since the wheel dealer only wants to give me USD 500 on the trade in of my originals, I have decided to take the oroginals and store them in my garage at home. Appx. temp every day in Jakarta in my garage is appx. 85 to 95 degrees and I plan on storing them at least 3 to 4 years when I will probably put the originals back on the car and sell or trade in the car as I will not get any extra for money for the rims I put on now. So how could I store these tires so as they keep their life and do not dry rot or anything else along those lines for the next 3 to 4 years.
