Tire size selection HELP!

I justt bought some new wheels and I need to know what is the optimal tire size for a 1998 w210 E320 lowered with the E55 suspension.

Currently I have E430 (sport) wheels on there which are 17x8 et 37mm all around with 235/45/17 tires

The E55 wheels are 18x8 et31 front and 18x9 et35 rear with 245/40/18 front and 275/35/18 rear.

The new wheels I have are 18x8 et32 front and 18x9 et32 rear.

My question is: What size tires do you think would work best? I'm guessing 235/40/18 front and 265/35/18 rear.

The fronts are 1mm closer than the E55 wheels into the body so a 235 width I believe is best. With the rears, they are 3mm further out, so a 265 width is best so it doesnt rub on the fender. Also with this combo, the actual circumference will be just minimally off so it won't have any effect on traction control.

Opinions?

I agree with your assessment of the 235/265 combo

Hey Luke, for non AMG W210's TireRack will not recommend a 245/40/18 up front but recommends a 245/35/19 on a rim with same width and offset say 8.5 et35? If a 245 will work on a 19" it should work on a 18" with the same rim width and offset?

Luke, I just picked up a brand new pair of Bridgestone SO-3 265 35 18 on ebay for $150. Why doesnt Tirerack sell this tire in this size?

conservative website recommendations ... I would run 245's if it was my car with 275's out back .... but, with 265's you would need to run 235's .... and 275's will require a fender roll

so with 18 x 8 31 offset with 245/40/18 fronts and 18 x 9 35 offset with 275/35/18 rears would be ok on 2002 E320 then?

thanks luke!

sounds good, but check for rubbing on fender just incase - since the fender lip is rolled on E55 using those sizes..
