Shimmy when I drive...
Per this forum's recommendations, here is what I put on my 2007 S550:
D'Vinci Blade II wheels: 20x8.5 front, 20x10 back
Pirelli P Zero Rossi tires: 255/35ZR20 front, 285/30ZR20 rear
The tires look and perform wonderfully... except between the speeds of 40 - 80 mph, there is a noticeable shimmy in the steering wheel, and passengers can feel it, too. The stock tires/wheels didn't do this.
I'm thinking it might be a balance problem? Alignment problem? And I'm assuming if it's an alignment problem, the warranty won't apply.
Can someone give recommendations on how to chase the problem down? Thank you so much!

Are you using spacers with the wheels? If so, that's most likely the case. Spacers on the front wheels will give you some vibration. If not you might want to make sure that your wheel lugs are torqued to the correct amount, if different lugs aren't torqued to the correct specs then you will have some vibrations. So take it to the dealer and ask them to check that out, or if you have a torque wrench do it yourself. I'm not sure how tight they should be with your car, but I'd guess about 100 ft/lbs. You can check in your owner's manual. If that still doesn't fix it, ask the dealer to rebalance your wheels. Also, you might have a bend in one of your wheels, have them check that out too because you might not be able to see it because it might be on the back of the rim.
