Wheel offset question for 2000 E55 19" - Luke?
Easy question:
Will 19X8.5 et38 and 19X9.5 et38 fit on a 2000 E55

I say no on the front unless you go with a 235 width tire. Using a 245 width tire I could not move the offset inward more than 4mm. I went from OEM 18x8.0 et31 to aftermarket 18x8.0 et35 and that was maximum with only a 4mm change in offset.
A 8.5 et38 would push the tire/rim inward by 13mm. When Brabus made 8.5 width rims for W210 the offsets was around et26

If I remember correctly years ago I test fitted this 17x8.5 et30 and the rim touched the cradle. I am not sure but it may have been that the rim rubbed on the caliper. I no longer have the rim to play with:
