Hey Luke!

Not really sure what the price was since it was a package deal with the wheels and brakes and other stuff too.

Think 19"s on your C36 would be awsome! Actually it'll stand out more and even better depending on the wheel design. You should give it a try!

they're great...the low speed stiffness is prob due to stainless steel lines, but high speed is awesome... have a slight shudder at 40 mph, annoying, stillen says it's normal (gut feeling it's not), but overall it's amazing

Shudder when braking, or all driving? Normal... maybe with their kit. I don't have any experience with it, but my understanding is that they use Brembo calipers with their rotors and hats. Is that right? Explain the shudder more. Do you feel it in the pedal?

shudder when braking, pedals pressed...minimal vibration when not braking/coasting/forward....i watched the guy do the wheel balance...yeah, on car/wheel balance may be even more, but it looked fine on the machine. and the shudder u feel in the steering wheel, which is the weird part...stillen says it's normal for the holes to be "felt"...but it's awfully annoying. the brembo caliper is fixed (as opposed to my stock sliding) and the rotor assemble is a disc/hat full float mount (hence mclaren clips). and even more odd is that it happens only at 40 mph, not from 30-0 (which it used to, but stillen machined my hubs, and that fixed this part) and not from 70-40, it only starts and ends around 40 mph...

Something isn't hubcentric. Either there is not enough remaining hub for the wheel to properly sit on, or the hat is designed incorrectly. Do you have spacers? If so, what size and brand? Try jacking your car up in the air, taking off the wheel, and then remounting it. Put the 5 lug nuts in, semi tight, and then tighten the top lug. Rotate the wheel almost 180 degrees until the opposite lug is on top. Repeat this until all of them are tightened. Lower the car back down and then torque the wheels. Let me know if this reduces or eliminates the shaking.

the spacers r 5 mm, some local shop had them...pretty crappy i say...i was getting some hr spacers. in any case, i don't think they caused the problem...i took them out and tried...the same shuddering happened too. if something is not hubcentric, wouldn't i feel it at times other than braking? what is the tighten and 180 turn supposed to do? thanks for trying to figure this out with me ....

From reading your post, I thought that it shudders both when braking and when not braking. If it is only in braking, the problem probably lies in the hat. I have 5mm spacers on the front of my CLK in order to clear the calipers. There isn't much hub left over, so unless I tighten the lugs as I mentioned, it will shake slightly. (this way makes each section of the wheel sit more flat). Regardless, I can't see why the shaking is considered normal. What is their explanation?

stillen tech/mechanic who worked on it said it's the drilled holes making themselves felt. it was saturday at 4 pm when i picked up my car, so i didn't have time to argue with him...had to go back to sf sunday... i really wished i had been able to ask them to give me a second rotor just to try (but i guess they wouldn't be able to sell it anymore...sigh)

there is still a lot of hub left with the spacer, it's only 5 mm. even without the spacer, the shudder is still there...
