I am going to junk the "Sport" (Avantgarde) wheels that look like hubcaps and the Continental H rated tires on my E 500 when it arrives. (Too bad the AMG Sport option is not available in the US.)
I would like to get the 18" AMG Mono Block Style III wheels that are on the real Sport package in Europe (and the rest of the world). The pricing for these wheels at MB dealerships is outrageous compared to outside vendors such as Tire Rack or Status Imports ect.... However the outside vendors show all AMG wheels with a plain center cap as opposed to one with the Mercedes Star. I know from past postings on this forum if you order the wheels at an MB dealer you get the MB Star center caps.
However there has never been a clear answer as to whether the MB Star center caps come with AMG wheels that are purchased from an outside source? Does anyone know?? If so please reply.

They come with the wheels from autoclass, I know that for sure. But, what does it matter, the caps are $12 each at the dealer.

I bought 4 17" AMG Split Spokes from Discount Tire - it was arouind $280/ea wheel and they came in MB boxes, with MB center caps - the ones with the laurel leaves around the perimeter.
