Question New Snow Tires and ASR Problems

I recently installed Nokian Hakkapeliitta Q snow tires on my 1998 E320 wagon. I have yet to use them in the snow. Shortly after the new tires were installed, the ASR system would kick in for no apparent reason. After hours of diagnostics it was determined that the tires were the cause of the problem.

I was wondering if anyone else had experienced a similar problem.

Thanks

John

Sounds like the wrong tire size? Are you using a size that differes fron the OEM size? I have Bridgestone Blizzaks on my Y2000 E with no problems

depends on the weather
the problem that you have encountered is very common on MB vehicles when you use a soft compound winter tire like the hakka Q's or the Blizzak WS50. The problem is created because there is to much flex in the tread blocks in the tire causing the computer to think that the tire is slipping.
It is especially bad on 4matic models.
