All season or winter tires??

As the weathers getting cold here in Washington D.C. metro, I have to get my car ready for some snow days. Heres my question,

I am currently running 225x40x18 front and 255x35x18 rear(summer tires). I have AMG monoblock rims off of E55. I searched for the winter tires but no luck finding 255x35x18 rear size. I found 265x35x18s but I don't know if I should run a wider specs in the rear. Do you guys think I can run 225x40x18 front and 265x35x18 rear?? I found Bridgeston Blizzak winter tires come in this size.
My other option is to go with all season tires like Eagle F-1 or Pilot A/S. What do you guys think?
All season or Winter tires with specs I mentioned above? Any other Washington D.C. metro or northeast people have recommendations??

Thanks!!!
Kelvin

I am running Eagle RS - A 245/45R18 All Season Tires without any problems during the Canadian Winter. Of course, the ESP program is very helpful. Competing in Winter Rallys years ago, we were always told not to run extra wide tires. (265x35x18???) The narrower the better..

Go with ice-rated tires only

The limiting factor for winter is black or regular ice. All seasons can't handle these. You need something with a snowflake rating on it at least. If you can't handle or stop on ice you might as well just have your insurance company on speed dial.
