Need the softest, quietest, smoothest tires made

Just wondering if you guys have any recommendations on very soft, quiet, and smooth tires - trying to get a 235/55/17 size. I figured Mercedes owners would know these traits best.

I've had Bridgestone Turanza Serenity in 235/50/18 that I recently sold that rode pretty well, but they do not offer that tire in the 17" - this is what someone from TireRack recommended when I e-mailed them.

I have Michelin Primacy MXV4 right now on my stock 235/60/16 and am not pleased - according to TireRack's general tests they were the best ride out of all but I certainly don't think so... the 18" rode better IMO but Mich are still quiet

Anyone riding on Toyo Versado LX?

I have Michelin X-Ice right now so I don't really care about snow traction... but it is a good tire to compare to - the ride with the X-Ice is very soft and there is no tramlining. I threw my MXV4 on this week and even with a big sidewall, it just doesn't do it for me.

Thanks guys

01 BMW 740iL... all of the tires I mentioned have been on this car (except Toyo) within the past 6 months - I just can't find the right one or the right wheels, but I'm looking to get the original 7 spoke 17s that were an option but standard on the protection models.

I think the Serenitys were better than the MXV4, and I'm mad that I just sold them. What do you recommend in the 235/55/17?

if you are using michelin X-ice, i presume you live in a snow state. You might want the check out the NOKIAN WRG2. it is an all weather tire that has snow capability. http://www.nokiantires.com/tyre?id=1...me=Nokian+WRG2. I bought the WRG2 SUV for my honda pilot and it rides as smoothly as my OEM.

Sorry to bump an ancient thread, but I too am looking for the softest, smoothest tires possible. Quiet would be nice as well, but the main thing is the pothole and crack absorbing capability. I got my 2005 E320 from Florida having over 200,000 miles on it without a single rattle and installed Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ tires on it in the factory 245/45/17 size and I love the handling on smooth roads, but the potholes and broken pavement here in Houston are tearing my poor car up. The pano roof is starting to creak and there are other little rattles here and there, and that's with all suspension components recently replaced.

I've got a set of 16x8 OEM Mercedes wheels and I'm looking to get a set of 225/55/16's for them which would have been the factory size for my car had it not come with the sport package. The size alone is going to help with the ride, but I want to maximize the buttery smoothness, so please help me pick the absolute smoothest riding most shock absorbent tires available bar none. Price is not an issue. I want this car riding like a Rolls Royce if possible. Not so much for my comfort, but for the longevity of the car itself. It rides so hard right now I feel like I'm scared I'm going to break it every time I drive.

I am an absolutely wacko ride quality freak and as far as I am concerned, the Bridgestone QuietTrack tires are “THE” smoothest, most quiet tires one can buy. They used to be called the Serenity, then the Serenity Plus, but a few months ago, the made them even better and changed the name to QuietTrack. I have had several sets of these, going back to like 2011 or so. I had the dealer swap out the run flats on my 2018 S560 for the Serenity Plus tires, put 20,000 miles on them and just put a new set of the QuietTracks on. MAGNIFICENT! The tires I took off, were pretty much like new, good enough for another 20K or 30K miles, but I like having new tires and replace mine every 18K miles or so.

Unfortunately, Bridgestone doesn’t make the QuietTrack tires in all sizes. I wanted to put them on my SL, but the size wasn’t available, so I went with the Michelin A/S3+ instead, which is my second favorite, quiet, smooth riding tire. Hope this helps. Good luck!

I just ordered P7 A/S Plus in 235/55-17 These are on closeout now, so look around. They should be smooth and quiet, not yet installed, but reviews and testing, they seem like a solid choice. I wanted to try something new....to me, not another new model tire...I've had them all.

I've been on a Nokian kick. The Z-line a/s on my CLK 500 Cabrio, and the super-quiet, class-leading, eNTYRE 2.0. Price on them is amazing, again, look around.

I ended up going with Pirelli Cinturato Strada tires on 16" wheels. My old 17" factory sport package wheels with almost new Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ tires are now for sale in the marketplace. Thanks everyone for the advice!
