Tires for C 320 sedan?

Our '04 C 320 sedan will probably need new tires in the next year. It has 38K miles on it and still has the OEM 205/55/16 H rated Michelin Energy MXV4 tires on it. I have been satisfied with these tires on all counts except one. On the small depths of snow we get here, these tires turn the car into a sled! I am not looking for a "snow tire" or "winter tire" at all. To give an example, once I got the C 320 down the street in shallow snow and determined it was too dangerous to proceed with it. I returned home and got my Honda S 2000 with near track tires, and it did much better.

So, for the new tires I would like something that would be as good as the OEM tires have been as to most critera, except at least "average" on shallow snow.

What should I consider?
