Fitment: 17" AMGs on a 1987 420 SEL?
Will 17x8.5 AMG Monoblock Aero IIs with a 30 mm offset fit on a 1987 420 sel?
If so, will there be any clearance issues at all?
What range of tire sizes could be used?

depends on the weather
they will be tucked in a little bit more than I like but would fit and a small spacer could easily correct that problem
