I just bought last month a 2013 C350 4matic with 225/40 R18 and 255/35 R18 tires (first MB) and already thinking about what kind of rims/tires I should buy for next winter (and of course how much $ I should expect to pay) My thought are heading to 17". Any suggestions on average price product would be welcome.

This thread does not seem to active, but I'll give it a go. I have 2013 C300 4Matic Sport with the 18" AMG rims (Front: 225/40/18; Rear: 255/35/18). I want to put Blizzak WS70 on them but the widest I can find on Tire Rack is 245/40/18. My question is twfold. First will the 245/40/18 tires work on those rims? Secondly, is the front rim size the same as the rear? And if so could I get away with putting say 235/40/18s on all four wheels allowing me the option of tire rotation?

Ideally, I'd get 4 new 17" wheels and go that way but I don't want to invest too much money on a car that I am leasing. Thanks in advance...

Hi Luke - I'm currently running PA2's (225/45R17) which are in need of replacement but can't seem to find my size option for the Michelin's Pilot Alpin series (either PA3 or PA4) on tirerack.com. Could you please confirm whether this size is available or not as I was hoping to stay within the PA series.

unfortunately there is not longer any of the Pilot Alpin product line up in the 225/45-17 size. Michelin does have the X Ice XI3 in that size

Mainly used for driving in really rainy weather in the Pacific Northwest and plan on going into the mountains for skiing.

I'm interested in Michelin and would like a comparison between the X-Ice 2, Alpin, and Alpin HP.

Also considering the Continental WinterContact SI as the price is cheaper than the Michelins.

my original tire is Front 235/45RR18 and Rear 255/35R18

First, may I use same size of Winter tires on both front and rear?
second, is 17" more suitable for 18" in snow/ice gripping?
third, 235/45R17 or 225/50R17, which is more efficient on snow/ice?
my target is Michelin Xice XI3, any comment?

Hi Luke, I just acquired a 2012 GL350 Bluetec with runflats, and I line in Maine, so it needs winter shoes. Are there any other good options besides the Perelli Scorpion Ice and Snows? Or are those just exactly the thing I should put on it?

I am looking for winter wheels and tires for a 2013 S65. The factory size is staggered, which is great for summer tires, but I would be interested in a square setup for winter tires, simply to extend their life.
