Important tire question!!

I have a friend that is looking at buying my tires from my sl55 to put on his 2002 E320 station wagon. He has 245/40/18 in front and 275/35/18 in rear on it right now.

My tire sizes are 255/40/18 and 285/35/18. Would these tires fit on his car? Any chance of making them work?

Thanks.

Is there a certain offset on his wheels he would need to have to NOT have to roll the fenders?
