S-03 vs. T1-S

Anyone tried both? I am about to purchase a new set of tires, although I am a loyal follower of T1-S, I am extremely tempted to try out the S-03.

I am confident that both will have superb traction, I am just worried that the S-03 will not be as durable as T1-S and perhaps, noisier than T1-S.

Any testimonials are highly appreciated.

I've got the S-03 now and was going try the T1-S next. The S-03s are noiser than the clk original Pilots but are wearing better. It could be due to a calmer driving style or increased tire pressure.

The Toyos look like they should last longer and be quieter with the higher treadwear number and tread design. They even cost less!

The Bridgestone RE730 I have on another car is better suited to my driving style than the S-03.... I don't do too many 0.8g turns and compared to the S-03, it is quieter, is wearing better, and doesn't pull on grooved pavement like the S-03 does, I guess because of the S-03's center rib. The 730s do flat spot occasionally.

If I thought the Toyos didn't work that well, another tire with similar grading and cost I would try is the Yoke ES100.

So you recomend the toyo t1-s over s-03, because I plan on putting 19" rims on the CL, but don't know which tires to go with. I think the t1-s should be fine, tread design and less noise is a key factor in my purchase.

Yup. They have a higher treadware rating, same traction and temp ratings, and as for handling, I doubt I will ever reach the maximum performance of either tire. The tread design, similar to the Pilots, should be quieter and not tramline over grooved pavement.

Ever tried BFG G-force KDW2? I have them right now and they are awesome. I had S03's before and they handled great but poor life from the tires. Never ran the Toyos.

I got both the T1 S's and the S03's. My choice is the S03- yeah the treadwear is better on the T1 S's but my T1's are very noisy on the California grooved freeways. I think they are practically equal in the performance section- the treadwear is 220 vs. 280 and how a tire wears has many factors so I dont worry about that unless you have a Pirelli PZero with a soft 140 rating.

For me it's hard to truly determine which one is better since I have never had both tires on the same car but the noise factor is better with the S03's.

The T1S's are on my S4.
