Quietest Z rated tire

Hey guys, Most low pro Z rated tires i drove on make a lot of humming when braking. I drove on the bridgestone potenza RE92 215/45 ZR17 on a new IS300 and they were sooo quiet. I don't see this available on tirerack though.... any other tires that are quiet in that size?

we do sell the RE92 but, I would not recommend them .... They do not stay quiet. The 9k is pretty good also but, not quite the level of the 4 I mentioned

I'm kinda clueless about tire sizes, wheel sizes, offsets, etc. Where can I go to read up on this stuff?

Stay away from the RE92, it is a hideous tire. Decent dry and wet grip, but absolutely trecherous in terms of hydroplanning resistance. They also wear very fast for a high-performance all season. The SP5000's are pretty hard to be beat in terms of the price to performance ratio. I really like the ones on mine.

Do a search on any Subaru Impreza message board for opinions on all of the tires Luke mentioned, especially the cursed RE92's.

You may also want to check on Continental Conti Sport. I a friend of mine has this and he said that they are quiet!

Sorry, but I wouldn't buy Continental tire (I know they are OEM), my friend at Discount tire has suggested to stay away from them (at least for trucks)
