Luke, I got a bubble

I just bought these tires from TireRack three months ago. Before I dig up my records do you know offhand if this is covered by any warranty (wishful thinking, I know). It's a PZero Nero. Thanks.

most likely not. it looks like what happens when u hit a pothole. the steel belt inside has broken, but the rubber skin still is intact. most likely happening when u hit a pothole. this will not be covered by pirelli, it's not a manufacturer's defect. however, some places allow u to buy a cheap $20 insurance against nails and the like, such as wheelworks or something. ask the place where ever u got it installed.

I would replace that tire ASAP.

Same thing happened to me before. Tire was only used for about 6 Months and I don't recall ever hitting deep pot holes, but who knows... Oh, that tire is also Pirelli... Coincidence?

w420, that looks like it damaged to rim also...u may wanna check to see if the rim is still round...

coincidence? most likely, although i did not have good experience with pzero assym at 205-45-17 sizes on pothole resistance...in fact, all 4 that i had blown out by potholes were pzero assym...

Steve, thanks for the advice. As luck may have it, shortly after that the car got into an accident and that specific wheel was damaged and replaced anyway.

I got another set of P-Zero assym for another car (this time in 20") and so far they have been running great for about 4 Months without any problems. I'll keep an eye on it and see how they hold up. One thing I do is check the tire pressure weekly to make sure they have the correct pressure at all time!

Thanks for the replies. Actually, Tirerack apparently does have a discount policy within 90 days. Of course, I'm just beyond 90 days so I will pay full price.

In defense of Pirelli, I was very satisfied with the original PZero system (yellow label) which prompted me to try the Nero and up until I saw the bubble, I was happy with them. I think I'm pretty good at avoiding potholes but living in DC, a pothole will occasionally catch me off guard. But I'm still not prepared to say Pirelli is more susceptible vs. other tire makers but that's just my opinion, of course. Having used several sets of the P6/P600 years ago and then a couple sets of the yellow PZero, this is the first bubble I've encountered with Pirelli. So I'll try them again and let you know how it goes.

i'm sure pzero assymetricos are good, many makes have them on high performance cars. it's just the size 205-45-17 is not a good size for the pzeros.... and, it doesn't have the gold pzero lettering on the side, and it only has a single solid tread, whereas most others have double solid tread down the middel...

I have gone thru 8 tires because of these darn NYC potholes. I am attempting to file a tort claim against the city on my latest two replacements. Thing is, the city has a law which says they are not responsible unless the pothole has been previously reported and they did not fix it within 15 days of the report date. Guess we shall see what happens.

My sister bubbled her Pirelli Assimetricos a couple times and finally switched over to Michelin Pilots. No bubbles on those yet.
